Indian Special Forces

So in case if you don't have planes to do that type of jump? Or not enough planes?

What are the chances of a small team of 6-8 men in 3-4 of these making it past enemy line without detection in areas where crossing through land is very hard, like mountains and hill's, like Hamas did manage to do that, tho it was also a surprise attack.
Jet pack with a Iron man helmet.

The one thing that worries me is that 9 Para has still not avenged the loss of 9 of their men. Once this culture is normalized, it’s very difficult to come out of it as it will become a standard procedure to react to such steep loss of men.
How do you know we still have not avenged?

to avenge means to apply a disproportionate measure of force that will deter the enemy from killing your men again. Right now, we are just happy eliminating these PAFF/KT chaps whenever we can. Ceasefire is holding our boys back.

To get the knowledge of these kinds of revenges you'll have to go inside the Officers's Mess and then maybe you can find some interesting "trophies" to say the least.

Or maybe wait some 15-20 years after which someone might write a book that no one would read. But then suddenly someday someone would find quite an interesting paragraph in that book hidden in some boring chapter.

I dont know if they were avenged or not but last year there was a post of someone from the Army saying that getting matyred has become a norm…if someone could post it would be great.

we brought Pakis to the table for ceasefire in 2020 because we were able to inflict unacceptable casualties on them. That’s not the case anymore. IA is content with 40 casualties per year happening in small bits, which they find to be acceptable. I tend to agree with them on this aspect, but Special Forces are no longer special if they take such high casualties. In any encounter, we throw the Paras to the wolves anyways hoping for the best. This is just elite infantry.

I havent used jetpack therefore i dont understand how could you navigate long distances using it if you do not have a HUD.

Its a incomplete technology as of now.
Jetpack in combat seem pretty vunrable plus not long duration at all.
Could be helpful in rescue ops in mountains or also potentially to transport 1 personal between ships without need to pull out a helicopter.
Basically very limited use.
As for infiltration, jetpacks are just not there, these girders shown by Egypt are better than jetpacks, tho these gliders are still a pretty dumb idea according to @Ayan Barat

Well that's the neat part, you don't; hardly 10km is what you get.

You're clubbing together multiple issues Buddy

• Are Paras taking bit too much casualties in COIN operations?
Yes and it has multiple issues to it ranging from different training to operating in civilian areas to poor operational planning.

• Are Paras "not that special" anymore?
Yeah, kind of. I always say our Paras are what Ghatak should have been, Ghataks are what RRs should have been, RRs are what infantry should have been and there's none who should have been like Delta Force. MARCOS gives a pretty textbook example of what Special Forces should have been.

• Are we not taking revenge?
We don't know. If it would have an escalation of LSCO with Pakistani soldiers firing artillery and we also replying then it would have been over in days. Almost all the escalations are covert and against the Laws of War so we also retaliate in a just manner. And these are not "civil" enough to be told to the nation in a press conference so no-one knows.

Compare 4x gliders with 8x troops to an utility helicopter carrying a detachment of 8x troops.

I'm starting the comparison for you, you can continue for other parameters like range, speed, altitude if you wish
• A helicopter can have substantial level of armament with it ranging from MGs to missiles.
• Typical sound signature of a 2/4 stroke glider should be around 100dB and for a modern turboshaft helicopter around 115dB.
