Indian Special Forces

If they had converted the whole Para units to SF ,then who at present has the capabilities to deploy themselves airborne including the Bmps during war?
Let PARA keep the SF tag. Let them swim around in mediocrity. Extract no more than 480 men from PARA, the best of the best, and earmark them for a true tier 1 force. Extract around 320 men from MARCOS, again the best of the best, and earmark them for another tier 1 force. Bring these 800 operators under a single aegis of command (AFSOD or whatever it'll be called), make them self sufficient with intel assets, transport and logi. De-link their command from general forces to prevent them from being used like fodder. Issue a special budget directly from the PM's office to arm these 800 men to the teeth with absolutely cutting edge gear, NATO standard training and a completely evolved mindset towards "problems". Pragmatic individuals with full reign on how they want to approach an op, and make them answerable to only the highest echelons of power. After the program has matured, both in training and equipment, earmark few the most experienced of these operators to raise a 3rd force to support the first 2 tier 1 forces. A completely new SOF component (around 3000 men) divided into 3 units, inducting directly from Army Ghataks, AF Garuds and the SFF to directly support or complement the afformentiond tier 1 forces. The SOF component might not be needed to be equipped as well as the tier 1 components, but would have be equipped on par with the current standard of MARCOS, and the training to keep up with the main components. With the proper mandate this organization will shift the paradigm in the region, and even extend Indian inrerests in far away frontiers.

In true Indian fashion we will make one kob profile do 2.

The same SF will be running up and down mountain peaks doing LRRP and the same guys will jump battalion strength to take a bridge and a town and Jump out with BMPs to fight behind enemy lines in the desert.

Because comandoooo

120-200 men per every newly converted "SF" unit. Around 1000 paratrooper at max are still retained for regular paratrooper duty. (God knows what was the higher ups thinking before succumbing to a select few ex-servicemen and serving senior ptr offcrs)

A company sized regular paras are going to do what in the event of a major op? How did all these guys suddenly become Special Forces grade though i am not denying the fact that our airborne selection might be more stringent than that of 101/82nd or VDV .
Also @rkhanna how 21st Maratha become an SFovernight with most of its men becoming balidan holders where as regular Paras like 5,6, and 7 had to wait almost 2 decades after that.
Had a chat with a former NSG Major who went to SG trials. He said the probation was for 3 months and it was on par with NSG selection though he got out due to an injury. It was more of mental endurance than physical one he said.

Visited the Gearsmith site after a while.
Why are they making those cringe hoodies along with combat clothing?😑

+ I have seen that Shark Tank Major's gear more in SF units than Gearsmith gear

- Units deployed in North maybe do not buy it as it doesn't provide much warmth.
They need to upgrade the quality it's not upto the combat level
