Indian Special Forces

Questions

1. Was the Sig 716 (762) a requirement of the Forces? If so, What Case-use studies were done? How did the Forces find the 762/Sig Suitable?

2. What is the process of framing the QRs and FRs - generals in air conditioned rooms or soldiers on the ground play a part?
- Do they follow a scientific method or are we stuck in an argument of "authority fallacy"?

For the first point, recently Sandeep unnithan in DDR podcast told that army asked DRDO (ARDE) to start 6.8x43mm round testing again. If this moves on then AK 203 may be replaced within a decade.

Second point, they don't follow anything and give cave specifics.

Why were we slaves for such long periods?
Lethargy and lack of collective initiative. It translates to all walks of modern Indian life. From R&D to civil engineering, tech, schooling, future planning, EVs for all, National Education Policy, Lack of Attention to Detail on everything, etc. etc. Always half measures and the easy way to weasel out of a problem. Guvmint should cut the shit and introduce the Japanese idea of "Kaisen" to Indians from a very young age.

Why did SAS stop training w Paras? cc @rkhanna since u mentioned bad blood somewhere before.
Last I heard was, the Daily Telgraph and the BBC I guess reported, that SAS were training Paras and I guess they found a hint of Bin laden and probably asked for a deplyment to Kashmir. Our guys said that it was denied to them so the SAS, nor the Delta ever operated in Indian region.
