Boss we want gora army privileges but not gora army functionality.

Pahalgam terrorists are still roaming after 2 months and our X Jai ho gang was advising US Army to march properly!!
Marching is possibly the most glorified waste of time any army can indulge in. It’s 2025, not 1825. I have far more respect for an army that can take out a target in 30 seconds from 30,000 feet, not one that can goose-step in sync under the sun for 3 hours. This colonial hangover of parade-ground theatrics ironically abandoned by the very colonizers is now just a third world obsession with form over function. Capability matters, not choreography

Lol exactly. People were bitching about how the Americans could not march properly. Yet they can hit you to oblivion without dropping a sweat. Who cares if they can do a stupid march!

Marching was first introduced to help build muscle memory while fighting in line formation. Marching trained soldiers to move as a unit, reinforcing discipline and responsiveness to commands who had to take sharp turns and respond on command because cohesion and accuracy mattered in early modern European warfare when guns had their own time to reload and shit. Show me the british red coat tactics in modern warfare today and I have a unicorn to sell you.

Marching and Band Baja was part of psychology and used to motivate own troops and make them disciplined by making sure they obey orders.

Marching is also important to make sure that in the heat of war muscle memory comes in the fight or flight mode and the soldiers choose to fight.

Indian Armies were very poor couple a hundred years ago and every fucking nawab or king had kept European instructors to teach marching.

Marching has no Indian concept before that.

Any conventional army who can't march should take it as disgrace and probably hire instructor who know how to march
And burger can't hit us or any other major country into oblivion without a bloodbath new modern threat will ensure it
Bsf camel , motorcycle drama isn't that good not defending it still how our sf is doing doesn't have any connection to this discussion
If we had done remotely same on republic day as burger did all of thease going around burger can't march because they fight war would be first one trolling us
With thier logic while still in war Russki are doing magnificent victory day parade
And all this stupid parade trash started with single photo of flashlight on top there alot of improvement to be made on alot areas still defending disgrace of parade with it is not appropriate

The marching we recognize today comes from European line formations, used for coordinated movement in musket warfare. This style of marching emphasized cohesion, timing, and visual discipline, essential for maintaining firing lines and maneuvering large groups in open-field combat.

Muskets had low accuracy and long reload times. Soldiers had to stand shoulder to shoulder in a straight line to fire volleys effectively. Marching in step kept lines tight and organized. Drums or shouted cadence ("left-right") helped units move as one. This made it easier for officers to control large formations and give orders that would be followed instantly.

By contrast, the Romans and even by megasthenes' accounts Mauryans did march, yes, but their system was functionally and tactically different. Roman marching focused on road movement, speed, and logistics across long distances. It wasn’t about synchronized parade-style steps but about covering ground efficiently in organized columns.
