One thing on their side I'll say to defend these actions, is that many of these losers do surrender. I have a friend who was in RR (punishment posting for punching a superior ) & he shared that much of these "revolutionaries" lose their appetite for jihad very quickly. They often join for the glory & girls but don't actually have stomach for it.
Telling them they're surrounded & getting their family to talk them out of it qre valid tactics, which commonly work.
