I remember 12 years ago NSG had a budget of 30 crore just for uniforms if i am not mistaken.

This year it was 1300 crore total budget.

What are they doing with this money?

I swear i am very diplomatic and really control myself…These guys look like very poorly trained and really stupid.

Whats funny is not that civilians like us are being Chairborne Commandos

But

The funny thing is Chairborne Commandos are correcting your basic drills…And these are very basic things which you will get taught the first day of shooting a weapon in Thailand.

The requirement for the 'Automatic Rifle' is what led to the creation of the INSAS LMG.

• 20-30 round polymer magazines
• Burst fire for rifle and Full auto for LMG
• Heavier handguard and thicker barrel

Each LMG gunner carries 17 x 30 round magazines into battle and is heavy encumbered by the loadout.

why tf will anyone mount a TI sight on a micro uzi , that too being used along with a shield . First of all thats a retarded optic choice for that platform , second you are supposed to keep that wepon light for reacting fast in this particular use case , 1.5 kilo ki gun pe 0.5 kilo ka sight .

Rail hai to mtlab kuch bhi mount kardoge kya , basic things mein bhi hag dete hain .

I genuinely don’t think these guys know what they are doing, half the ‘new’ stuff they adopt makes little sense and or is used inappropriately

It’s like they get delivered stuff and try to find a use for it instead of how it should work- they have a requirement that they fill with equipment

10 years ago we felt hopeful.

5 years ago we felt angry.

Now we just feel sad knowing the fate of things.

All of these units are poor.

Ignorance was bliss. The more you learn about how these things are actually done by pros in the rest of the world it makes what these guys do beyond a joke. LARPing is actually the word

Listen to any Tier 1 guy in the US, what they describe their training and tactics as couldn’t be further from what happens in India

The issue is without having a grasp on the basics or even an appropriate process in place they aren’t going to get better, they’ll just continue doing weird a$$ stuff and pretending they are special. They’ll probably get the job done too it will just get more of them killed and take much longer than is necessary

Always interesting to hear about the transition from tier 2 units to JSOC. Here a top class green beret (the guys that train with Indian units and make them look like clowns) says how slow and behind he felt when he got to his CAG team during CQB

01:01:00- initial CAG training isn’t high speed/sexy, they focus on the very very basics (dry firing, iron sight shooting, range time etc etc), firing/drilling 10,000s At the start. Then you see Para SF and some of them look like they have never even held their weapon before when you see them on video.

There are levels to this and I don’t think anyone in the Indian security establishment even knows how low down they are

I genuinely don’t think these guys know what they are doing, half the ‘new’ stuff they adopt makes little sense and or is used inappropriately

They are looking really dumb because today you can youtube most stuff and get a pretty decent idea of things.

What mistakes these guys do is not even advanced mistakes and us being over critical.

I am really disappointed with NSG coz every year after Mumbai 26/11 they have been given priority.

What have they evolved?

I just see them do stupid drills when they should be the pioneer in this.

Actually i have a decent idea why this is the case…its because everyone wants a cosy job and no one wants to put efforts.

If you criticise them…their fucking Union comes into action after activating whatsapp groups.

Even with the large manpower they have these are not small numbers and there should be a compounding effect. They aren’t buying all their kit from scratch every year and bullets are freaking cheap

Much of the private sector in India is hungry but govt jobs are govt jobs, even if you happen to wear a uniform I can’t help but feel that in India that infects your mindset a bit and is self selecting, those that aspire for a govt job have certain motivations

These are not high IQ hugely motivated people and certainly the system doesn’t promote that

My interactions with these guys and their spawn on social media are whittling away whatever respect I had for them rapidly

They induct new recruits and waste precious resources.

They should be retaining manpower.

Anyway,their kind of ops dont require young blood like Para SF do.

Deputation debate has been done to death on DFI, anyone looking at this objectively would say it’s a bad idea but as with all these things there are ‘other’ interests at play. As I said NSG like UN and other deputations are seen as cushy gigs and perks of the job

Airborne weren’t ‘upgraded’ to SF for operational reasons

Good luck getting these babus in uniform to give up their perks, air India employees would’ve rather burned their employer to the ground than pay market rates for accommodation

Don’t get me started on NSG’s weapon selections, it has been outdated for about 20 years

Sad to hear that, I am aware of some exeptions though, ofcourse I love speaking to the old school ones like Maj Sapru who know their shit but yea the majority here is underclass only.
