I am coming from a place where most of the infrastructure that we built for the Olympics become white elephants becoming financial blackholes or sinks where we constantly lose money. Look at Greece or Montreal and see how they lost money and was not able to derive any long term benefits.

Dropping the Olympics hosting dream is better. We can spend the money on strengthening the current prospects like Archery, Shooting, Badminton, Hockey, TT, Athletics. May be improve the shitshow of wrestling and Boxing also.

It is not worth the money since we are building grounds up infra and chances are low for reuse. Good or Bad PR. At the end of the day Hindu Nationalist running the Olympics is the news Goras will say.

Our sports body were got indulged in corruption and nepotism and poor in talent hunting. We are cost cutting everything even in terms of training. We can conduct 2036 but it does not change the fact that underlying sports development is poor.
