French Rafale repaired using Indian parts

I think we should take some overt action against the companies involved, and privately ask them to do their tricks to circumvent sanctions, and continue the trade.

No. I would tell G7 to fuck off. They didn’t break any Indian laws and then I would share data of European companies breaking and violating Indian laws and policies and demand that EU go after them. If they don’t then tell them to utterly shut the fuck up and fuck the eff off.

The Trump effect :troll:

Wouldn't be surprised if they are now more inclined for a limited India-EU FTA rather than on-purpose blocking before with insisting on India importing general purpose agricultural items from EU, knowing India won't agree

I m sure India won't mind lowering tariffs on higher end agricultural products but the fact remains that India must be free and able to guarantee her food security without any constraints whatsoever. Too many poor people that are on the borderline between full meal and starvation. EU must be made to understand this.

Why should we give EU easy access to India??? USA has been trying for a FTA for years
unsuccessfully, Don't think this will happen anytime soon? IMO

It is about trading access for other access to EU market. High end expensive agricultural products are something we don't care about because it is not related to food security. Just keep the basic foodstuffs such as rice, grain, potatoes, vegetables, fruits, spices, nuts, and basic agricultural products necessary to keep our population well fed and well nourished out of the FTA agreement. But stuff such as chocolates, processed meat, expensive cheese, prepared food such as ready to heat prepared meals, gourmet stuff, I am sure that India can go easy on those. Besides those products will be already out of reach for most of the population and will not replace Indian vendors anytime soon but only to supplement and to give ideas and creative forces for Indian vendors to look at and improve.

My guy our govt aren't retards, they wouldn't mind lowering tarrifs on high end items like cheese, wine, what have you.

Thing is the Euros have insisted on market access for their milk, vegetables, cereals etc type staple products, not high end, they know ANY Indian govt will not budge on this, Congress or BJP because of your farmers being a large voting block.

My point is earlier from Euros there was no interest or intention for the FTA, if there was they would have come up with a solution acceptable to both parties instead of being obstinate.

A similar trend can be seen with the Germans trying to hawk their submarine, earlier they used to do all kinds of export control dramas.

There are strategic complications too. No gormint would want to cede grounds on food security.

Gormint is at blame too. These idiots are still insisting on 'greater mobility of skilled professionals' (read more professional and student visas) and it is a major reason why their UK FTA discussions are stuck.

Bring up Dutch, German and other European countries' assistance to Pakistan's military and nuclear programs, and how that has endangered Indian lives. Mention historic events like Goa in 1961 and Bangladesh in 1971, and the Europeans' stances back then.
