I am not sure if this can be applied retrospectively i.e. will the new guidelines be applied retrospectively?
 
My smol wishlist from PM Modi's visit:
1) Get entry into the list of 18 countries/ get waiver to be treated the same as the 18 countries if Trumpwa continues with Biden's AI policy
2) Engines, probably larger order, just in case

USA entire focus in on our defense sector, their aim is to completely destroy our indigenous industry(currently at infancy stage) & make us dependent on long term.

Seems like chodiji has agreed to sacrifice the indigenous industry, but at what cost, .
We are committing a huge blunder, USA is not a permanent friend, we are going to repent this in near future.

If it's a framework that can bypass Congress, and/or make the procurement process more reliable & less prone to whims of the ruling party; maybe then it will work. If not, it's just one more diplomatic excersize.
Let's see what the outcomes are, historically India has been a tough negotiator; so not likely to get shortchanged easily

make in india has been a big joke by modi fooling the domestic audience and catering to international
agendas. why can't any defense projects ever be completed????????

HAL is not gonna save us, and priv def cos will not take the humongous risks. we simply do not have a worth-while "indigenous industry" capable of contributing with hardware to protect our borders against china-pak combo anytime this century.

lets buy the quality stuff from phoren sources, ensuring an even spread across murica, france and russia.

India is not special if we need to create something whole eco system starting from education is required …

So make whatever we can make and take whatever crumbs we can get from advanced nations
