There has some talk about how Trump will use tariffs as means to get some deal with India.
my question is, why shouldn't he? He is US president after all and he should do what's best for US. Conversely, Modi will do whats best for India.
The deal will cater to both sides.
The larger point is, with Trump, for most part you see what you get. There won't be any backroom shenanigans from him.
With Democrats, you get nothing you see. They will shove a knife in our hole with a smile on their face. They have done so repeatedly in last 4 years. FFS, they were even paying off pakis in Manhattan millions to house illegal immigrants and then threw Yunis on our testicles.
With Trump, you will hardly see that kind of underhanded shit. He will be in your face telling you what he will do.
Now, coming to how it will impact India, on economic front, we will have to buy lot of things to assuage tha orange man. There will be no getting around it. It can be military or tariffs, we have to choose our poison. On other hand, our internal security will be a lot better. Trump has said a lot of things that as Indians are a million times more important than few billions of dollars of revenue hit, be it on Pak, Bangladesh or wider narrative.
If you think presidents rule in Manipur is just a coincidence, I got some land for you on moon to buy cheap.
With Democrats in power, Manipur was an issue we could not deal with freely. Seems like no more and president's rule as soon as Trump returns signals the intent.
