Indian Air Force: News & Discussions (47 Viewers)

IAF put out this statement, this is misleading and gives a sense that stealth is detectable within IACCS (maybe it can but not proved/demonstrated in this case) but we know that this F35 has Luneburg lens on it.

In this age, Indian armed forces and MOD needs an integrated PR and Information Warfare department. This was evident from Op Sindoor experience as well.

A Royal Navy F-35B fighter recovered off an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on the night of 14 June 25. Operating from UK Aircraft Carrier, HMS Prince of Wales, it was undertaking routine flying outside Indian ADIZ with Thiruvananthapuram earmarked as the emergency recovery airfield. On having declared a diversion off an emergency, the F35B was detected and identified by the IAF's IACCS network and cleared for the recovery. IAF is providing all necessary support for the rectification and subsequent return of the aircraft.

The f35b was carrying external missiles, luneberg lens as can be seen in the pic.

My dude it is not possible that we will buy the missiles but not use/integrate them.

You have arrived at a very weird conclusion.

Most likely because the RoE was to not hit the sacrosanct Paki military assets ordered by Leaderji/Baboons, Meteors were not part of the load-out at all.

Anyway we will get answers about this when they make any additional orders of Rafale for IAF public and the dalals do mudslinging so we'll get definite response.

I also would have preferred additional Su-30 ordered plus Tejas mk2/Gripen-E type jet for the low-end but kya kare RayBan Gang wants those ((( reliable ))) W*stern engines
Dude , we need transperancy over this case. Fuck , strategic advantage. We need clarity and truth. Bvr is the most important part of modern air superiority. The hell are we even using rafale for if meteor aren't being used.

Don't read too much into it.

Where are you keeping a radar dish big and powerful enough to actually replace the ones used on an AWACS that has enough range and enough power to burn through fighter radars if need be? Suppose you can figure that out somehow, how are you going to give it electrical power? OK, I suppose you can figure that out as well - how do you give it endurance? Perhaps a long cylindrical body, wings designed for lift and range, and I suppose two big engines that can power the UAV.

OK, suppose you can figure all that stuff out. Then you have the human operators on ground that can maintain a constant datalink with the flying drone - wait, you just gave away the position of your drone because of the constant radio emission.

Then I suppose we can just keep the humans onboard, give them a constant climate control, and- wait..

Same is for AWACS too; no matter how much you and I argue on its efficacy, throw jargon to prove our superiority in knowledge...it's just a matter time before we see more and UAV based systems appearing everywhere. It has already happened in other arenas, it'll happen in AWACS too.
Mark my words
And look where all this brought you...back to me

Looks like f35 was deployed by UK near or inside Indian airspace for some spying mission or to check the capabilities of IACCS. Most likely their plan backfired ,F35 got detected well inside Indian airspace and was forced to land by escorting aircrafts.
Mehmaan ki trah khateer darree kyon agar spy karne aya tha.

I think it being fitted with AL-31F engines is the only sane choice, maybe work around into turning this into a dedicated EW aircraft like the Growler apart from LIFT instead of making it another LCA Tejas competitor or make an OMCA-type unmanned missile truck.

Why don't they use the in production Embraer P600 jets for the 6 Netra awacs order?
In collaboration with Jooz, the Embraer guys already have an AWACS variant so all airframe mods are already done

Because that actually makes sense, our babus will always try to do things which are not possible like getting American engines or buying aircraft which is out of production years ago.

Used jets are cheaper, lot cheaper.
Plus drdo has experience of modifying erj-145 already, plus spare supply chain for 3 erj145 based awacs is already there, so buying more of same type will simplify logistics.

p600 is smaller than 145 + a new aircraft base, so netra mk1a would get delayed even more, and enough 145 are available at cheap prices and that too 6-7 year old only, it was better to go with 145
