Getting a few nukes isn't going to make Iran a superpower that threatens India.

You should read more about what nukes can actually do. Nukes are a threat to a tiny nation like Israel. For a country like India, even 180 nukes of Pakistan if successfully delivered can't destroy even 2% of India's land area.

The nukes aren't the problem their ability to raise mullah jehadis is the problem. They will raise those against us once they deal with Israel. You talked about US being distracted by Iran. But you need to also remember Iran is distracted by Israel. Once that distraction is gone they will raise those terrorists against India with their oil money. Nobody's simping for Iran or Israel as an Indian. We're just coldly calculating what outcome best suits us ?! Another N armed Islamic nation is an absolute no no. Be it Iran or Turkey or maybe a Malaysia or Indonesia or even an Egypt in the not so distant future.

That's not only the view of our establishment , that's pretty much the view across the world except perhaps in Beijing . I don't even think Moscow has any doubts on this issue.

As far as Iran goes it massively miscalculated when it initiated direct action against Israel last April or May firing drones & BMs in response to Israel bombing it's embassy in Damascus. That gave the Israelis the excuse they needed more so when Iran itself hasn't been known to respect the sanctity of embassies including on its own land .

And I'm not merely referring to their taking hostages in the US embassy in Tehran in 1979 but last decade when they attempted something similar against the Saudis in Tehran which led to the suspension of diplomatic ties between both nations which have been recently restored.

When you're pursuing something as forbidden as N weapons you do it without attracting much attention like Paxtan. The Iranians on the other hand needled practically every nation in their immediate & extended neighborhood including the US that too over the course of nearly 4 decades now .

How exactly did they think it'd end ?

In any case there's little we can do as a nation except watch the outcomes which we are & plan to insulate ourselves from the fallout to the extent possible which we will.

All other talk if Iran falls where will get our oil from ( hello , we've stopped getting our oil from Iran more than a decade back ) or how will we reach Afghanistan ? ( It's more in Iran's favour to have a neutral Afghanistan . We were merely piggy backing the Iranians here ) or how do we access CAR ( we haven't had / still lack access to CAR . That hasn't damaged our economic prospects & given oil & eventually Gas lose their importance as premium commodities in the future the salience of the ME & CAR countries goes down significantly ).

Ditto for the North South Trade Corridor. The India ME trade corridor ending in Israel to be taken forward to the EU via Greece was an alternative route we accepted in case the former didn't work out. The war in Ukraine already ensured it wouldn't. This war is sealing the fate of that corridor.

Any more arguments about the fate of Armenia etc are unimportant. These are collateral for a wider war. It's unfortunate but that's the way it is. Besides I believe as long as Russia exists they won't allow Armenia to fall.

Hopefully I've covered all the angles there is to this conflict.

Iran lost this war due to overblown aatmanirbharta, they thought their air defence systems will triumph over enemy's fighter jets, something which has never happened in the history of modern air combat. So instead of investing money in building a credible airforce with russian fighter jets like mig 35 and su35 they blew their money in useless missile maxing.

Lesson for us here is the same no amount of missile maxing and air defence systems will replace the importance of fighter jets in modern warfare, hence having a credible air force should be the foremost priority. I really hope people who were saying 5th gen fighters are useless have seen a mirror. China has multiple hundred j20s as of now and will end up around 1000 by 2030 ,thus acquiring 5thgen fighters as of now should be our main priority to keep our airspace secure, otherwise we will just end up getting smacked like eronis in our future conflict with china

Nothing is less important. Every unit of defence forces required. Than u can win battle.

I saw on telegram, in various Iranian GCs they are not at all delusional like the inbreds next to us .
They are openly criticising, every one responsible .
Apart from that, they recognise their flaws, they did before this also.
Their biggest grouse against the govt is ,not having a decent airforce, and instead focusing on ballistic missiles.

This is why I think new regime in Iran is going to be much more self interested and will not indulge is external affairs. I believe it will be easier for us India to deal with new regime.
