ISRO - General Discussions

Few of the antenna technologies recently developed and used in different missions of ISRO are listed below,

i) Shared Aperture Tri-band Antenna (L1/L5/S-bands) for navigation payload,

ii) Active phased array antennas at Ku-band, X-band and C-band etc for communication and earth observation programs,

iii) mm wave scanning reflector antenna for humidity sounder,

iv) Altimeter antenna for chandrayaan-3 and Gaganyaan misions,

v) Cassegrain multiple beam unfurlable antenna for radar imaging payload,

vi) Ka-band Multiple beam antennas with different size beam from common antenna for HTS

vii) Frequency selective surface (FSS) based S/Ka band Cassegrain antenna for data relay communication payload,

viii) THz Quasi optical Beam Waveguide (BWG) antenna for 3m /6m telescope,

ix) Active integrated GNSS band antennas for Geodetic applications.

x) Antenna for SOTM applications,

Apart from these antenna technologies, ASG has also developed various advanced technologies under R&D activities Some of these antenna technologies viz. flat panel liquid crystal based reconfigurable antenna, metasurface antenna, multifeed per beam antenna for HTS using single reflector, shared aperture S/Ka band feed, quad band active radar calibrator antenna, GNSS reflectometry antenna, P-band SAR antenna, Q-V band Gap waveguide based array antenna etc. are developed.

Currently few other technologies still under development are ultra wideband antenna (2-14 GHz) for Very long baseline Interferometry (VLBI) applications, digital beam forming based antenna at S-band for interference mitigation, SDR payload multibeam antenna, multilayer board based active integrated phased array antenna, planar man pack terminal antenna etc.

I think we need to move past that kind of thinking and go straight up as fully manned exploration and scientific advancement. No need to be afraid of stepping on anyone’s toes.
Ya'll what said then is still revelant because we are not compteting with the western Nations but expanding to our needs and requirements, we are competeting with ourselves not with others.

The Human Space Flight, Space Station, RLV, IRNISS, Chandrayaan, MOM programmes happened due to our requirements and not due to any comptetions.

Total weight of CY-4 is 9.2 tons.... 3 to 5 kg sample will be collected, both surface & sub-surface samples will be collected...chinese chang'e-6 collected 2 kg sample..

Stack-1 with Lander & Ascender will be launched on 1st LVM-3SC, into a 186 x 36000km GTO, & following it less than a month later stack-2 with Re-entry module, Transfer Module & Propulsion module will be launched into same orbit using another LVM-3SC

Then stack-1 & 2 will dock in the 186 x 36000 GTO , this is the first of such kind docking in the entire world....no one did it earlier...

Semi-cryo engine is needed for this mission

Yes but that’s setting a low bar. We need to surpass everyone else’s bars in order to come out on top.

We only have 2-3 real competitors out of nearly 200 countries in future anyway.

Ya'll our requirments are so high that we don't even have to set the far high, today the revalation of the Chandrayaan 4 and 30 tons LEO Soorya second base variant is the byproduct of our current thinking, which is more than enough to even answer the like of private space exploration and commercial firms.

We don't even need the reusable thingy. Access to space is more important. In my opinion, snatching even small share from established players like SpaceX is incredibly hard. Have you seen SpaceX new Raptor Engine refined? SpaceX only gonna become more behemoth than now. ISRO would have no chance other than small occasional orders from Small countries. Most countries due to "Big Brother Syndrome & Small Dick Chihuahua Syndrome" would rather pay Millions more to SpaceX or Ariane or CNSA than launch their Satellite on ISRO.
I really don't get the hype of reusable thingy on ISRO? Afterall we are not gonna launch as frequently as SpaceX. All Missions are paid by Government so there is no need to be mindful of reusability. It would only make the vehicle and engines more complicated.

30ton LEO Soorya is not base variant, it's the heavy variant, base variant i.e SOORYA-CA has 20ton LEO, while SOORYA-H has 30ton LEO
