ISRO - General Discussions

🇮🇳🇦🇺

Summary:

  • ISRO will construct a telemetry tracking station on Australia's Cocos (Keeling) Islands for supporting the Gaganyaan manned spaceflight program, and perhaps other future missions.
  • Two Australian spacecraft to launch on Indian rockets: 1) Optimus, the largest Australian-designed spacecraft to date, will fly on SSLV. 2) LatConnect60 will fly onboard Skyroot Aerospace's Vikram series in the coming years. There's another satellite by Skykraft that seems to be a joint program with a PNT (postition, navigation & timing) payload.
  • Exploring possible Australian contribution to ISRO's BAS station program.

This will be one for the history books if we pull it off. A whole host of technology and R&D would go into the mission:

- Trans Lunar Injection
- Successful braking and landing
- Parking the ascent module in a good orbit which is accessible for the lander
- Launch time coordination for the Lunar ascent vehicle
- In orbit rendezvous around the Moon autonomously
- Trans Earth Injection
- Trajectory correction manuevers(they need to be precise if we want the probe to land in Indian territory, instead of Pakistan or China lol)
- Developing a heat shield that can withstand the heat generated from from a trans earth injection reentry(for comparison, normal Earth reentry is around 8km/s, a trajectory coming in from the Moon will be around the range of 10-12km/s)

edit: time for me to simulate this in KSP 😂

cupola module , window to earth like in iss , more ambitious than even chene space station

Guys . Is spadex launch confirmed for this year ?
I can't search spadex here as it goes to the CI/CT thread.
