Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DoS) signs Framework Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Space Biotechnology

Dr. S. Somanath, Secretary DOS and Chairman, ISRO emphasised that the national human space flight endeavor, Gaganyaan aims to enhance nation’s capacity in the field of science and technology. A national space based platform such as the Bharatiya Antariksh Station will enable the utilisation of the niche space environment to undertake cutting edge microgravity research and technology development based on our national priorities. He remarked that through this collaboration, a dedicated Biotechnology Experiment and Technology Demonstration Rack will be operationalised in the upcoming Bhartiya Antariksh Station in future.
 
What is the replacement for NAVIC???
They are supposed to launch another irnss satellite( NVS-02) soon, not long ago, they said before end of the year. But no further notice. I do remember people saying that 4 such satellites are good enough to make the system work, though of course it won't be as extensive as with 7 or 8 functioning satellites.
