LCA TEJAS MK-I & MK-IA: News and Discussion (10 Viewers)

When there is difference of literally 50% marks then no amount of talent can compensate for the lack of knowledge. It is all ok till a point
first thing i m questioning about one test entrance merit...second thing getting more marks "in a entrance test" mean superiority or inferiority of talent in students (rank 1 vs rank 100)?? coz merit depends in many factors, even luck can play in multiple choice questions of entrance test. many student do "smart elimination method" in MCQ, that doesn't mean that student know that questions answer.

I was fuming few days back when BEL is applying for an Gun tender when BEL is supposed to be an Electronics ODM/OEM. Now, recently DRDO ToT 10 tech and for an Land Vehicle BEL is ToT partner. Why the hell an Electronics company trying to build Land systems, Guns etc. They are sitting in cash and India now importing all sub components for Mobile, Laptops and other electronics from China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea etc. BEL with that money can invest in Mobile Phone components like RF Transrecievers, sensors like Accelerometer, proximity sensor. Heck BEL can do an JV with Panasonic to build NMC battery in India, since we are importing everything from China.

If GOI is ready to bailout PSU, same GOI can guide these PSU to invest in areas where we are lacking. Not on useless areas like guns were we have OFB and other private guys and Land systems when we have big players in Commercial Trucks/buses.

This is nothing
You have Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited assembling the 76mm Oto Melara cannon in Haridwar used by the Navy.
The barrel is made by OFB Kanpur.

🤡

Meanwhile, till Galwan ching chong was vacuuming all power generation equipment tenders as L1 for both private and public electricity producers

And how do you identify talent in a public setup without an entrance merit. Smart elimination methods, luck etc can only make little difference and only to a handful of them. There are literally people sitting with half the marks of a candidate from different category and in between them exist thousands of them who may be as talented.

AKM is one of the OG defence journalists in India based in Bangalore with great access to DRDO and HAL. He was a close confidant of Dr. Kalam too. He’s been unwell off late and has been taking rest and not been as active as in the past. I had met him a few months ago at Mangalore International Airport. He even had made a series on YouTube regarding the LCA Program called Hamara Tejas. He is a little old fashioned, but he probably has the greatest access to Bangalore based labs and PSUs.

Hamara Tejas was a great show. People should watch what are the things our Scientific folks endured to build the Tejas. Whenever people called it is 30+ Years project, people should watch this show to get an idea what are the roadblock we encountered during its design.

At the same AKM sir last year mentioned there is serious management issue is going and lot of senior members were resigning due to poor work culture.

BHEL with OTO, VFJ doing Stallion assembly when AL is an Indian Company and Hosur plant will churn out faster than whatever speed VFJ is doing. Indian Companies were hell bent on being an glorified assemblers instead of pushing forward when you have money.

Also Indian Army pretty much operates LHB and RHB due to our procurement comedy. Eg. ASLV is an RHB vehicle and Kalyani M4 is LHB Vehicle. Talking about Gun zoo, we are also specialized in Logistics zoo. Tatra was LHB vs Stallion RHB. (Good thing Tatra is replaced by TATA LPTA which is an RHB truck).

TLDR

They are going with imported radar because deshi radar and EW would delay timelines again.

This is pathetically chutiya reasoning
U guys need uttam+ew suite after 2.5 years
There is no need to panic
And certifications will be completed within few months if aircraft is provided
Absolute case of either corruption or pressure tactics
This should glow red lights in MoD

There is no idhar khayi udar kya situation
Stop defending HAL

PAC Kamra, the assembler of JF-17 has similar setup as the Admirals have with certain eminent shipyards like MDL and GRSE.

As in PAF controls the PAC, Kamra and all it's projects, by inserting their serving and retired personnel into the management.

By comparison our beloved generols here have neither an inhouse design organization nor are they enthused to insert themselves into HAL management, leading it to be run entirely by babooze and giving everyone an effective blame game cycle

Where everyone is responsible for no results and no-one is at the same time
🤡

It pains me to say this but the Pakis are more serious about their air capabilities than our guys are.

Junk Fighter is supposed to be a cheap fighter to fill the numbers, not some wunderwaffe, it does it's job well and they have 150 in service as they wanted.

Here they are not interested in padding the numbers at all and want French wunderwaffe in an impossibly expensive amount of 114 planes at any cost.

Then they complain about falling squadron strength and point fingers at HAL( not entirely without reason ).
