& if BJP says it will act on Rohingya/Bangladeshi infiltrators only if it is voted to power... this defeat should tell them of the demographic shift... which may not allow them to win even next time.

This is a muslim majority seat but there was a divide between Muslim Turk and Muslim Kshtriya.

Nah, Indian elite votes for the BJP only. If they bother to vote at all, that is.

Even in Kolkata, places like Salt Lake etc delivered healthy leads to the BJP in LS 2024.
