Hey @vampyrbladez I tried really hard finding the standard load and got pretty much nothing. Sad life of mine

But suddenly realised that you can get a pretty accurate estimation of the standard load out based on the number of magazines asked per gun in RFPs. So here it is, a CRPF (ya I know, it's not Army but what's the difference anyways) requirement asking for 4 mag pouch.

This again correlates with both your and my observation of it being 4-5 mags; 3+1 in case of regulars and 3+1+1 in case someone knows jungle style.

We need new pistol as sidearms for infantry I don’t why we don’t think of pistols
Because we don't issue pistols to infantry like other militaries where everyone gets a sidearm. We only issue pistols to officers, vehicle crews or Tier-1/2 operators.

Vehicle crews and officers know that they won't be using their sidearm anywhere except weapons qualification tests so they don't care much. As for Tier-1/2 operators who are actually going to use a pistol in combat, they've pretty much standardized either PX4s or Glocks.
