My honoroable men who served in the British Indian Army as Offciers still till the time they were alive used to visit India just to be with their Regiment.

And they did that most years.

British Indian Army officers were some of the finest men.

I think u are getting him wrong

Moreover we had finest officers from British era who had fought ww2 and were so good in comparison to today's counterpart
We had sundarji sam kariappa vaidya jacob so on
Iaf had finest officers like subrato mukherjee pratap chandra meher Baba and so on
List is too long to be written and to explain their contribution
These guys were practical understood logistics and warfare
It's bcoz of them we have done so many based ops in past with pathetic economy and political scenario
They were majorly trained under British military and they had learnt so many things from them
Infact they had connections even after independence

Coming to jawans they were never respected throughout the world irrespective they belong to colony or a kingdom
Point is post ww2 other countries changed that attitude and improved the standards of their NCO/JCO and focused on their enhancement which we didn't and we continued our babu culture
