Anyone knows about any feedback about the AK 203s from the troopers?
So i had a chance to talk with a young padwan + friend of mine after long time on teligram, He's a fresh passout from IAF academy, currently ATC or something like that
I asked him about AK-203, like basic training etc toh sabko milti hi hai...
his replies
> muzzle device works great, recoil management is good, stability is good
> accuracy is also good, he could do 1 inch group at 100 metres
> those rails on handguards are uncomfortable for holding bare-handed, 'specially digs in palms when going prone
> when i asked about utilising that krebs-customs style finger-tabbed fire selector on those AK-203s, he said...
his instructor was from para sf, he would make the cadets do rolling (gulaati maarnaa) as punishment had they dared to use their trigger hand in tactical fashion, like we see in youtube videos, by using fingers to actuate the fire selector
they still insist that soldiers do regular AK fire selection by taking their hand off the handguard, the gripping hand, or that they reload it by taking the gripping hand off and going over-the-top cover to rock the charging handle at opposite side (assuming a shooter is right handed guy here)
my literal reaction was this meme

so yeah, a little tid-bit of 'modernisation' with AK-203 in the armed forces
nope, they have worn it correctly
My bad for misunderstanding and prematurely overreacting. But wtf is this setup ?
People who are new to these defence related stuff might either agree with this Braddy fella that Army don't receive the level of quality they ask for or disagree with him that he's wrong in his assessment.
But only long-time followers would realize that every single word uttered by Blud is an absolute comedy in itself.

The situation is beyond any repair. I'll share a recent experience with y'all.Even I don't trust these guys with trials. Example: Intentionally running Arjun in reverse gear to damage the gear box. While these kind of test were not done on T series. Testing the Stryker in Ladakh only when general requirement is the system needs to be pass all IA conditions like Coastal, Desert etc.
Asking Bayonet in everything from Carbine, Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle which no sane military today does not care.
No wonder Parrikar called this as Star wars requirement.
Never know that Army is giving QC certifications to products.
I think once the sniper runs out of bullet. He will throw the knife to hit the target in 800m. Obiviously he ate the powerful Indian carrot to gain night vision powers.

So there was this tender by a state force asking for triple rail receiver cover for AK, which allows them mounting sights, LAMs and flashlight simultaneously. I know that this requirement is retarded, nevertheless MHA has proper parameters for this thing and the tender states to follow these standards. I have only seen rivetted dust cover like these, chinese one.
I participated in the tender, and even asked for clarification for the item requested, even though we had earlier participated in a similar tender for central forces but it got rejected as it was not upto mark (used a self developed welded cover), uand I knew the product is correct.
During trials I found that they were trialing single rail covers, without notifying vendors on the portal or through the multiple emails I had sent earlier. Also even after everything going excellent during the firing trials, and my product complying the MHA parameters (we had both single and triple rail milled covers) our product was disqualified for no reasons. It turns out the Israeli dalals had fixed everything much earlier.
Now just think about the following,
1. Corruption
2. Even for small components and small tenders Indigenous OEM get sautela behaviour.
3. Afaik no one sells a single piece 3 rail ak dustcover anywhere. We put some effort to design and fabricate it ourselves as no one was willing to fab this citing machining complexities. So how is desi MIC going to establish itself.
Looks like either 1987 standoff or 1983 alert deployment from my old mans albums.

I said only a riveted rail cover exists in the market, not a milled one. While designing a tri-rail cover is easy, design to manufacture, and actually manufacturing it with the limited tooling I have was the effort, that too as per standards. And it cleared the damn trials. I go borderline regret mode when this shit happens, when I am the most confident that at least my products would reach financial bidding.the tri-rail top cover thing you mentioned and deemed a fairy tale, actually exists
