Naxal Maoist Insurgency

I don't get this oft-repeated anti-humanities diatribe among RWers. I say educate your children about certain non-negotiables, dharma and desh bhakti, from early on to make them immune to manipulation later on. But you shouldn't prevent them from taking up something they may have the aptitude for. And running away from the fight isn't the answer. We need many future historians, journalists and sociologists to infiltrate leftist academic dens and correct the narrative.
I am perhaps one of the few in our society and perhaps the only one on DFB who has moved from humanities/social sciences to STEM based studies and research. Hence, whatever I am saying is based on my personal experiences. It pains me to see the state of humanities education in India and around the world. There is so much we can learn from this field but unfortunately it has been hijacked by leftists. However, with the implementation of the New Education Policy by the current govt, I have realised that the days when you demarcated the humanities stream and science stream have long gone by. We are in the age of interdisciplinary studies. Even if you are a humanities/social sciences student, you need to have basic knowledge of coding, statistics etc. In the West, you have several data scientists who have a social science/humanities background. Perhaps this is how the humanities needs to evolve, by focussing on quantitative areas. I am sure with this evolution, several if not all, of these leftist academician will be made redundant.

Left-Wing groups Demand Judicial Probe Into Keshav Rao Encounter

The left parties and people’s organisations on Thursday demanded for judicial inquiry by a Supreme Court judge into the encounter that took place on Wednesday killing 26 Maoists including CPI (Maoist) Central Committee general secretary Nambala Keshav Rao.

The leaders of CPI (M), CPI, CPI (ML-New Democracy), CPI (ML- Mass Line), Telangana People’s Joint Action Committee, Peoples’ Front and Civil Liberties Committee held a joint media conference at Manchikanti Bhavan at Khammam.
CPI (M) district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao pointed out that the Centre was continuing anti-Naxal operations in Dandakaranya forest in Chhattisgarh even after CPI (Maoist) expressed their willingness to hold peace talks. He urged the Centre to accept Maoists’ request for peace talks and cease fire.

Few facts from the article:

-Abujhmadh is the only place in India without a revenue map. Inhabitants don't even have deed titles for their lands.

-The place is bigger than Goa in area but doesn't have a single km of pitched road.

-It didn't have any operation theatres or cell phone towers till as recently as 2023.

Don't think I've heard a tale of exploitation as brutal as this before. And Maoist honchos, most of them non-tribals themselves, have the temerity to talk about adivasi welfare and human rights after all that. 🤪

Also, note that Naxalism only took hold there in the 90s. Successive governments let the place remain untouched by development in the name of preserving tribal culture, and the Lol Salaams exploited that void. This is why I think red terror isn't going to revive itself after the jungle Naxals are done away with. The conditions which led to its rise simply won't exist after the jungle rebels are killed off. We've seen the same pattern in the NE. Leaving it underdeveloped and disconnected from the rest of the country, because building connectivity would supposedly make 'Chinese incursion' easier, led to a rise in insurgency. The separatist movements were crushed and the centre poured in a shit ton of money to improve connectivity. Resultantly local support for militancy dipped across the region.

Al-Jizzya has come out in support for MaoPigs. India should look into needling Qatar

The organisation’s most recent general secretary, Nambala Keshava Rao, alias Basavaraj, was killed by security forces on Wednesday in Bastar, Chhattisgarh – the last stronghold of Maoists.
The security forces have currently surrounded suspected Maoist hideouts in Karigatta Hills, with the army’s helicopters assisting in the operation, according to authorities.
Security camps are often equipped with surveillance and communication equipment to assist in the operation against the rebels. The 20,000-strong local police force is also helping in the operations in Bastar.

The use of cutting-edge technology, such as advanced drones equipped with high-definition cameras and thermal imaging sensors, has helped security forces monitor Maoist activity in the region’s dense forests.

However, local villagers allege that security forces have carried out aerial bombings in various parts of Bastar using large drones. Maoist groups have also accused the forces of conducting air strikes.
The recruitment of Adivasis, many of them former Maoists, in recent years by the authorities seems to have turned the tide in favour of the government.

The then-BJP state government started to incorporate Adivasis, particularly former Maoists, in the District Reserve Guard (DRG) force in 2008 with the aim of using them in anti-Maoist operations. The idea: Former Maoists are better at navigating dense jungle terrain and know about Maoist hideouts.

But past records have raised concerns. Adivasis enlisted as Special Police Officers (SPOs), as they were called, have been accused of rights violations.
Current Bastar IGP Sundarraj P estimates about 1,000 armed Maoists remain, along with 15,000 affiliated individuals.
Internal Maoist reports acknowledge declining recruitment, smaller units, and ammunition shortages. Of the 40 central committee and politburo members, only 18 remain free – the rest are either dead or arrested.

Meanwhile, security forces have expanded, built new camps, and improved intelligence and training, while Maoists’ base areas are shrinking.
