I remember few stories from my childhood .
A forester was called to the check gate by his juniors saying they have caught some illigal timber . It was a trap set by naxalites . They tied the forester on the check gate . Cut his hands while he was still alive , tortured him for some time with bidi and then shot him . May be some disputes over illigal timbering or something .. it was in broad day light . Dozens of villegers were looking from distance of 100 meters . This incident had such impact that a beautiful tourist place nearby became desolate . I remember going there on bike and noticing red flags on some trees on the side of the road . When parents knew I went there I was beaten with stick

..
There is a story from a tea shop not far from the police station in the town . Police SI and few home guard asked few people who were drinking tea with them about their where about .. they directly said we work in jungle , we live there and smiled . The police people just left the shop .
They also used to come and eat in someone's house we knew (everybody knew). A govt teacher who lived near by forest areas . You got no choice there .
Over years multiple CRPF camps were established . We heard less of the naxalite activities . I remember being very excited seeing crpf people on bike with their assault rifles going in line .
