Data compiled from SATP which is the only one i found giving detailed account of each incident. Overall deaths have significantly reduced excluding last year. 2024 is unusually quiet in rest of NE india. The calm before the storm? Violence was much worse before 2000 (which is only from March 2000). SATP data is not fully complete so you can take it as a lower bound. For example 14 civilians were accidently killed by IA in 2021 in Nagaland which is not captured here. But the general trend remains the same

Northeast is almost peaceful now, most threats can be dealt with without the Army. AR+CAPF with the state police force is more than enough to tackle. Manipur ones are prolonged due to the complexity of the problem.
