My friend there is no permanent allies in geopolitics. There are only business partners who can switch side based on their interests. All these countries who people think as friends are just there because of their own interests.

Back then the world was divided between blocks. Obviously they took America's side as they were natural allies & collectively against the Soviets.
The same way the Soviets compromised India's political system to be used against Americans.
In the current timeline imo Israel, France & Japan are least hostiles to the Indians. Israel is the consistent one.
Back then India had a Mullah run socialist political system. Israel had all rights to oppose it. Even the current day Indians would oppose it.
Sentiments can change with the authority of ruling, so is the support.
Israel heavily supported India during the Kargil war even by going against the American rule book. Later with weapons, technology & intelligence that immensely helped India.
That's a positive in by book. They can be American puppet but when it comes to supporting India, they're the most vocal ones. All they do is to pipe down Mullah lobby, Pakistan but that eventually benefited Indians & is still doing.
But yea, simps are bad. Some people take it to the point of cringe.
World order can change anytime.

Is there any report that Tejas was used in aerial combat during Operation Sindoor? I haven't seen any except for one tweet (forgot who tweeted), but couldn't guess anything out of it. So, does IAF still consider it as an immature product for real combat, although it can fire even the Astra-I? Even the MiG-21 was out of the picture, while the media reports Rafale, Su-MKI, Mirage & Jaguar were being used.

There have been tons of modifications .. Few which ruskies too will be proud of IMO
 
On May 6th, I expressed my concerns. I place the blame on the GOI. Since that day, the GOI has neglected to engage with international media effectively. They failed to coordinate with the Indian lobby to shape a favorable media narrative. Instead, their focus remained solely on military action only, disregarding the critical aftermath.
We now know who our true friends and enemies are. India must stand alone in this fight, as no one, not even their media, will come to its support. Therefore, India must be strong and prepared to win the final war.

whether it is SU-30 which ultimately became SU-30 MKI or jaguar or T-90 or T-72 or rafale etc., just a reminder to our newer members that none of imported maal comes as perfect fit for Indian military requirements, it is always the case that respective forces add their own modifications and integrations to ensure foreign maal caters to Indian scenarios. sometimes modifications are relatively easy, sometimes a bit harder/costly depending on the technology, but be assured there will be a indigenous component associated with it .

since AD is talk of the town, within AD you have seen live demonstration of how integration happens in op-sindoor. and integration means time in years, resource and money over and above acquisition process.

Su -30 was heavily modified by IAF/ HAL / DRDO with Israeli and Western Avionics and other sensors.
Only Airframe is Russian. Even in that They have literally fleeced us.
There is a reason why we refused to go forward with the Su-57 and PAK - FA farce.

No such thing as "friends" in geopoliteeks, you have countries having an alignment of interests, maybe in olden days it would turn into an alliance.

Our alignment with Russia is being against the West, not letting the Ruskals be dependent on Choyna and ofc maintenance wagera of existing Ruskal platforms.
Ruskal may do ball-lifting of Chongs & Pignats on RT global but Ruskal will not stop supplies to us of military maal like a certain Superpower would surely do.

With France our alignment is of defense Dhandho, pure and simple, aside from this France is the only W*stern ((( ally ))) that is somewhat Independent of US, having an independent foreign policy,Aerospace MIC and Nuclear energy industry.
If they have to choose between US/West and us however they will put us under the bus, they can resist however, they did when the farman came from Washinton DC to invade Iraq and they said NO.

Japanese are US kutta and only ties with them are of dhandho of the Suzuki wagera types, maybe infrastructure and all also like bullet train, nothing much in military, they are as far as a "friend" you can think about.
In the future however with the Chong problem it could be they will expand the relation to include military tech purchases also, maybe

As for Jooz it is our common green terrorist enemies, and ofc the Defense Dhandho relationship, they are the best source for Western-like technology, they have also provided help in terms of CT training and equipment when we were officially ((( secular ))) and not openly fanboying for the jooz.
Same caveat as the French applies here too, if the choice is between US or some core Israeli interest, we get put under the bus.

India is a large enough country to not need #PhullSapport media buddies like the beggar shithole next door us, our "friends" must only be willing to supply us with the necessary gear when shit hits the fan, Israel did during Op Sindoor, if it would have continued i'm sure the Russians and French would also send supplies if we placed some orders

Reg 2nd part of your quoted post, this ORF discussion - which was a waste of time IMO and made me think journos esp affiliated to think tanks are dumb hacks fit only for uttering banalities - Raj Shukla points out that this abusing of 'restraint' as part of our general lexicon for all security related matters has a lot to do with Jaswant Singh's statements during Op parakram and post-parliament attack. There are a lot of variables and moving parts to it ofc but what do you think? Are we still seeing it's effects 25 yrs on where despite the actions we seem very willing to take compared to the past, we want to retain a certain image for the world and even the armed forces have succumbed to that?

Very Mature assessment. Rightly said.

The real support is shown by supplying supplies. Any country willing to supply us in time of war is our true ally. If unkle sammy is casual and doesn't sanction us. It is his way of supporting.

We don't need words, we need supplies more.
