I think Israel miscalculated. If you compare this to the India-Pakistan conflict—where India bombed 11 airbases, 5 military installations, and even targeted nuclear sites inside Pakistan without facing any damage at all—Israel’s situation stands in contrast. In this case, Israel has suffered visible damage. It seems Israel underestimated Iran’s offensive capabilities, assuming they were weaker than Pakistan’s, and overestimated its own military strength, believing it to be greater than India’s. But that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Israel may have inflicted greater damage on Iran, but no one expected Israel to suffer this level of damage in return.
