Comparing Operation Sindoor to the Balakot airstrikes, it’s clear that the Indian military has learned significantly and addressed past shortcomings. Both the Indian military and government appear to learn quickly from their experiences. In the case of Balakot, there was a lack of publicly available evidence to support the strike’s impact, whereas in Operation Sindoor, a substantial amount of evidence has been presented. During Balakot, India was pressured into de-escalation in exchange for the return of Wing Commander Abhinandan. In contrast, during Operation Sindoor and its aftermath, the Indian military gave Pakistan no such opportunity. It’s evident that the Indian military and government have continued to evolve, and in future conflicts, their responses are likely to be even more swift, precise, and effective.
