IAF is in a precarious situation. No IAF BVR missiles can get mid course updates from AEW&Cs or a UAV relay. This means they need to guided by the shooter itself or a buddy shooter, they will be under threat from PL-15 and PL-17 and may not be able to provide mid course updates throughout to ensure good PK. Where as PAF or PLAAF shooter can engage in truly fire and forget tactic, shooter fires BVR and then rely on AEW&Cs or UAV relay to guide the missile via Chinese datalink.

Only solution is to develop a local tactical data link system like Link16 or 17. To update ASTRA missile series to work with this datalink. Re platforms, update SU30MKI, MIG29UPG, LCA and our AEW&Cs with this datalink. Not sure if french platforms can be updated without huge OEM costs.

Till then, IAF will have to be defensive in air to air engagement and relying on SAMs like S400, MRSAM and Kusha (in future for area denial). Longer range air to surface standoff weapons like , Rudram 2 & 3 will provide deterrence against PLAAF and PAF (they are specially vulnerable to it).

How do you propose GoI will even hide a possible aircraft wreckage within our own borders? In all past aircraft crashes during training, have you seen how public it is? How will they hide one suddenly?

GoI also hasn't said anything about a Kolkata class ship being sunk during OP Sindoor. Are you going to assume a ship was sunk?

Here's another thing. What difference does it make if a Rafale was indeed lost? Should it prompt an immediate change in security posture and cause GoI to go on a shopping spree? Should it cause GoI to not do air operations anymore? Would it immediately mark one jet as superior to another and therefore all air battles a foregone conclusion? This same applies for Pakistan btw.

Destruction of an asset wouldn't and shouldn't cause us to change our approach towards that asset. There is no...end game to this question. It's not like let's say a brand of car that keeps getting into braking accidents so need to be recalled. In that scenario, what even is the point of this question I don't get.

A basic system design engineer working in this field will tell you how that's possible without humongous work or cooperation btw america and China

Coming to us why do everyone forget we have our own datalink for all our 3 services and they are interconnected too
Our all equipments are connected to their service specific datalink which is further interconnected that's why we make modifications on imported systems be it rafales mkis mirages netra il-76 infact p8i has few bel electronics are installed for operations with our datalink
We have the capability to communicate and guide missiles based on other platforms data

Another fake news propaganda… due to restricted ROE IAF suffered few losses not because PAF is brilliant or has technical advantage…

IAF was simply trying to bomb terror camps while PAF was having prime time viewership.

Once IAF send across the payload PAF who was enjoying prime time view due to IAF’s self inflicted ROEs started throwing BVRs/SAMs and if you throw many in target rich environment its simply probability that eventually few odd will find targets.

This was the tactical mistake … of not taking care of the Sead/Dead and sanitising PAF before hitting terror camps.

Next time if IAF restricts itself then they have themselves to blame

Your commissar or handler can share them so that we can have some more fun, the way we had while publishing the bombing of all other pakistani bases.

The CDS is completely right here. Losses are not important, what matters is whether or not we achieved our strategic objectives. Which we did as a result of this operation. It doesn't matter how much Pakistanis try to deny it and paint a different picture about the whole conflict but they were humiliated left in every possible way we could and this time we showed clear irrefutable evidence. It is evident that we did face a few losses, but we learnt from our shortcomings and have taken the necessary steps to rectify those strategic mistakes to prevent them from happening again in the future.

Media management is not work of army. CDS must be straight and right , but they must have taken him out of context. Moreover all the world media is hell bent upon to show Great Indian Victory in poor light , so they all are after every thing twisted in their way.However , I think GOV should take note of this and should improve upon this in next game. I would again say it here , actually winning war is more important than media war.
