If Pakistan buys J35 , India should be very happy . That money will come out the kitty of serious modernisation (unless they want to outsource their security to China )

India priorities at this moment is more Rafales (better make in India) . INVEST HEAVILY IN LOCAL TECHS for Radars , EW suites , AWACS , Battle Integration and Drones. These things don't look sexy but are very important in wars

Good news is that Former Air Chief is also of this opinion

Honestly Day 1 of Sindoor is filled with footprints of Topi Ji and MEA thinking.

And compare it to other days of Sindoor when actual green light and freedom was given to IAF and they were doing and acting on their own.

I understand the rationale of only targeting terrorists from a global narrative & diplomacy POV. We wanted to portray that we are not the aggressors and instead merely exercising our right to respond to Pahalgam.

If ROE was to not fire on PAF no matter what then that is stupid. If ROE was not to fire first on PAF but if they fire or threaten then fire back and defend, this is understandable and practical.

If IAF wasn't carrying Meteors, if IAF decided to do that then I don't know what they were thinking and if the government enforced it then they are stupid. In case they were carrying Meteors and couldn't use it effectively, then IAF should use this as an opportunity to do a deep and honest in-house review to improve.

This was the first modern BVR large scale combat between 2 near peer airforces. If important combat lessons are learnt in this and IAF can improve even at cost of a few airframes then it should be worth it. Better having experienced this now than in a full fledged war. Since PAF and PLAAF are getting capability aligned, lessons learnt can be applied on both fronts.

Fifth generation is fifth generation for a reason. Pakistani airforce will be having better hardware integrated with Chinese satellite and systems.
Indian amca is too far away 15 20 30 or May be 50 years. Who knows if it will happen or not. India have no airframe no satellite network no engine. Nothing. It’s going to be Tejas 2.0. Unless something magical happens.

Who said that ? I said Pakistan will have Chinese network of satellite. So they might be able to use some system of chini Air Force as well.
As for amca we will have to install a few satellite for network integration of system . I.e make those squadron act like one unit.

China already have it we will have to integrate. No doubt isro will do it but some drdo research work will be done.

So amca is very very very very very very very far. Just like in 2003 everyone WA’s saying Tejas will come out soon in months.

I hate how Congress supporters start trying to weasel their way into productive discussions to try to pin the blame on BJP and maybe score some supporters for the party which gave away 93000 POWs without asking for anything worth a damn in return.

Jane's is not your regular news media outlet. It is a purely defence oriented platform focusing on defence , intelligence , geo strategy , etc as opposed to geo politics , economics , financial markets , cultural & society issues , etc .

Therefore it operates in a very niche market for a highly sophisticated readership usually restricted to militaries , diplomatic corps , TTs, Academia etc & is a subscriber based platform. Further those subscriptions cost a bomb unaffordable to lay folk like you & me .

It's very rare for one to come across an article from Jane's in its full form which isn't behind a paywall.

So what you're suggesting vis a vis Jane's isn't a feature like it has now become with "reputed " news media organisations like Reuters , WaPo , NYT etc surviving on past glory , but a bug .
