Who said anything about replacing him from his position? But that doesn't mean he has to be the face of India's PR/Narrative Setting. The govt. it seems has hinted at giving the pakis the last shot and deescalating but is leaving the escalation part to pakis. Thus still preparing for the war.

Else the response should have been: our response would be proportionate in the domain. Just like in yesterday's briefing. The specific mention of destruction of one more AD in our babooz vocabulary means they have already retaliated for last nights misadventure of punjabi army. So, for them case is closed.
