But we always have to keep one principle in mind while dealing with Muslim/Islamic countries.
Always try to avoid directly targeting the entire population by viewing them as homogenous, monolithic societies.
It is so easy for the Fundamentalists and Mullahs in an Islamic country to rally the local population against any other country by citing 'Islam is in danger', Islam khatre me hein'.
And the biggest global truth is that ordinary Muslims can be easily made idiots by their Religious Leaders. Much more easily than Christians or any other religion.
Do we want to confront an united, radicalised Muslim population. Does it make strategic sense.

Let the Sunnis of Bangladesh start killing the Shias in that country. Even among the Sunnis the Deobandis should attack the Barelvis. An example.

The rulers of these Jihadi countries will have their hands full in controlling the inter sect strife and will not have the time to target other nations.

If we have enormous economic strength and can strangulate the economy of that errant extremist Muslim country. If we also have an enormous military advantage over the other country. Then probably due to extreme economic pressure that Muslim country will see reason and behave responsibly.
