PC Builds, Electronics and Home Appliances Thread

My suggestion when building desktop PC, from personal experience.

Build a good one and it last's you for over a decade.
below is my build for PC in 2015 and it still runs like a beast and all I did was little bit of over-clocking.

Will build a new one in couple of years.

A serious PC to run a editor like Blender will easily go above a Lac in INR. You basically need more CPU cores, GPU and higher capacity and speed RAM preferably running in Dual channel configuration.
These three alone will cost a bomb, with a decent spec GPU running above 25-30K INR.
Yeah i mean a laptop with 16" Ryzen9 + 4070 build is casting almost 90+ . I am not even sure if spending something on pc is right. i read some people having difficulties running blender and unreal on laptop with even 4070 esp hp omen series

Yeah mate - I just need few pointers for each components what i should looking for - what price range and what brands. A I said I dont even understand need for two set of RAMS, two set of HDDs, two set of coolers, how many and where the fans are required. WHat motherboard should i go for without getting sucked in for useless stuff.
You need two set of similar spec ram for dual channel operations using single ram stick affect performance. You don't two set of HDDs modern pcs don't use HDDs at all HDDs have only read write speed of 135mb/s where as nvme ssd are size of rs10 diary milk and go into nvme slot on the mobo and use direct lanes from cpu to give mind boggling speed crucial p3 plus which I had recommend earlier to you have a read write speed of 4700mb/s
Needless to say ssd make your pc very fast
You have to put case fans in your case in push pull configuration some fans pulling air in some out, hot air rises up so if the case have roof mount for fans. Mount 2 there to push hot air out for taking cool air in mount some fans in front to pull some fresh air in just it. just mount fans you can configure their profile when your pc boots up using software

I saw on some motherboard if it has 2 or 4 slot for RAM - each slot had different speed. eg, one was 6000 other was less than 6000. Why is that?

All right for performance how much and on what stuff should i stretch? Again pcpricetracker - i am noob, i am even not sure which component to choose over which.
i played and my jaw dropped. And i am not even sure what and why i picked. only two components i knew ram and nividia

Cheaper mobos have 2 slot expensive ones have four amd mobos are cheaper
Slots have similar speeds different speeds are not possible there are two types of speed one which you get out of the box like i5 12400 only supports only upto 4800mhz ddr5 but you can surely overclock to reach 6000mhz if your mobos supports it same for amd.

Thanks but lack of NVIDIA means cant run applications which rely on CUDA?

unfortunately you will need pay more for NVIDIA

MacBook M2 equivalent specs at 60% lower price.
Snapdragon X laptops available on pre-booking.

Hey Guys whats the case one should go for max airflow - shall be considering graphics card later as prices are sky rocket high,
I am really not sure what PC case one should go in for. I am not considering liquid cooling as it seems carries risk of leaking stuff post 5 years or any way after years one has to change the AIO, so plain air cooling for now. mboard is 870 variant and proc is ryzen 7 series but i am also looking at ryzen 9 series

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing all well and fine! I have come here to ask for some technical advice pertaining to the purchase of an electronic item. I didn't know any other thread to ask this question so I came to the Chit Chat thread.

From what I understand is that many/some members on this forum have very good knowledge and background in computers, computer science, computer engineering, laptops, desktops, PCs in general, applications like MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word etc.

So I want some advice on buying a laptop💻. My budget is around Rs.40,000 to maybe Rs. 50,000. Preferably from brands like H.P. or DELL. So this laptop will be used by me (as I am a student and a laptop can come in very handy to handle a lot of tasks) and my mother too as she wants to use it for her own work. Most of the time it will be used by me and secondly my own mother. My mother says she wants to use it for trading and viewing the stock market LOL, alongside some other tasks too.

So what do I expect/want from my laptop 💻? Let me list some of them.

As someone who is a fervent defence and STEM enthusiast, I like to read & learn a lot about missile systems, aviation, warships, tanks, guns, space missions, spacecrafts, Astronomy, Biology, and so much more, I have always wanted to try my hands at making 3D models of things like below.

Like said before, I want to create 3D models of aircraft, warships, missiles, spaceships, architecture, robots etc.

A lot of people have suggested me to use a very popular software called Blender. Through Blender one can do a lot, and not just be limited to 3D modeling. Through Blender we can a wide variety of tasks like Animation, Visual effects, Game Development, Rendering, simulation, video editing, 3D printing (One can 3D Print his/her own Design!) etc.

But if my memory serves me right then I remember someone (Who has his own laptop) personally telling me that it's a very heavy software and that not many laptops can handle Blender properly without getting hanged or the device crashing constantly. So I will be using Blender once in a while or maybe even a lot but not at hours at a stretch daily. So I am afraid that my laptop within a budget of Rs 40000 - Rs 50000 will not be able to handle it or maybe I am wrong? Are there H.P or DELL laptops (or other PC Brand) which can handle an advanced software such as Blender comfortably without any arising issues? I hope I can get come confirmation on this.

Also I want to use this Laptop to learn coding languages at home like Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, C# etc. There are materials available online to the common netizen in the form of online videos 🖥️, tutorials, apps, Books 📚 by many reputed authors, Coding teachers, online sites and more. So I want to use my laptop for learning coding which I am confident I will be able to do so on a laptop of this budget range.

Also it should last for a long time, at least 8-10 years at maximum. I am aware that I have to take good care of the laptop such as routine maintenance, downloading of anti-virus software, cleaning dust that may settle over it, storing it in a cool and dry place, making sure that it doesn't fall down or has some liquid like water fall onto it. I will do my part, rest depends on the quality of the device.

But overall I am sure that my laptop will be able to handle almost every task I throw at it, but the part that is bothering me is the use of blender, will it be able to run it or not? That's my concern. Maybe I will have to pay a visit to my nearby electronics retail center and check out what models are there. I hope someone can give me some good advice on a good model which can fit all the criteria I have listed.

@Bhartiya Sainik sir you have mentioned that you are from IT sector and did computer engineering, maybe you can help me.
Your response will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.🙏🏻

50 is the absolute maximum, and even that is a lot for me to shell out. The budget has to be between 40-50, not a rupee more than that. I will probably wait for some really good sale on Amazon till then. 55-60k is way too much, it will have to take a lot of convincing to do with my mother and I am 99.9% sure that she will not listen.

well then maybe you will have to get a weaker machine, are you a student?? then you will not need much powerful specs but still you would need to cut down yourr use

Blender will need a good graphics card if you are trying to model stuff with lot of polygons and textures. Any laptop marketed towards gamers should work well since they'll usually contain dedicated graphics card.

Just make sure that whatever laptop you're buying has a dedicated graphics card and not just integrated graphics. On a side note, maybe you can also consider a desktop PC, it will come out cheaper for these type of needs.

laptops today wont last even 5 years @Neil (नील/Нил) my friend had bought a 3060 laptop and now is lagging hard on games though
but autocad/siemens nx/catia runs fine

he recently upgraded the ssd and ram because of the ide demand

better get a basic laptop with good ipgu, you can check venoms tech videos, he tells in detail about specs

then when you do job, buy yourself latest rtx X070 or 80

Which is why I also suggested desktop, it will come out cheaper for his needs. Desktop class iGPU's are cheaper and better. Ryzen APU's are decent for most work. Currently using one of them.

He's one of those college kiddos who needs it for college
Which is why laptop.

Anyway most laptops should have 16GB RAM, for coding and all it's ok, guess the iGPU should also be enough for his blender work, he isn't a professional dealing with over 90000 polygons so once again it should be ok.

8-10 years tak to cheeni maal kabhi chalega nahi, the hinge might go bad or something with the motherboard, battery life will definetly degrade

The Laptop that I will be using doesn't need to have a lot of storage, I actually don't need much space on it, I have an external pendrive for that which I maintain very well. Also I don't need to do very advanced modeling as in the sense to pay a lot of attention towards the absolute details, something more superficial will do. I can't get a desktop since it will restrict my portability. Also I am not a heavy user. I will be using it once in a while for some tasks, maybe an hour or two daily at the very most or maybe more if I have some more work on it.

Budget ko 50000 crores kar detha ho.:troll:
Now we are talking:)
