Anyone wondering the reason we don't read about stuff like this on the Indian media often ? We wouldn't have collective breast beating on MSM & SM then wouldn't we!

We are still bit behind. Our future tokamaks shall catch on or be on par. SST -1 with a toroidal magnetic field of 1.5T generates plasma current of around 100 kA and is able to confine the plasma for 450 milliseconds(0.45 seconds). Chinese have been able to do for 1000 seconds(approx 16 minutes).

Sounds too good to be true IMO. I hope something comes out of this, but stuff they're aiming sounds too ambitious.

IIT M has a long legacy of incubating disruptive hard/soft tech start-ups. If all the IITs were like them our start-up environment would look different.

I wish their incubation cell had a bigger budget.

This must be the 4th or 5th independent company or organisation in India, to convert waste plastic into petroleum in the last 10 or so years. It would be interesting to see what effect the last 3 or 4 technologies have had on both environmental improvement, and in generating fuel for industrial or domestic usage.

Saw this 5 months old report on a project by few students to find solution for stubble burning . Currently the reason for lack of wide scale adoption of biofuel projects are - cost of process , capital cost , logistic cost , farmer incentive , 15-20 days gap between paddy clearing and starting wheat . These kids are after reduction of cost of the process .
