I'm just a bit confused about the name "Tripura", is that some Indo-Christian community straddling the border, or well within Bangladesh? If the former, Indians should definitely be aware and concerned. If they are Bangladeshis, Indians can point out that it is not just Hindus suffering persecution in Bangladesh, but Christians as well. Are we supposed to give a flying f about this?

kokborok is the name of the language of Tripuri tribe (aka twipra) which founded the twipra kingdom which is the modern state of tripura founded by maha-manikya, a twipra chief. Sadly partition of India left some of these members on the BDeshi side who converted into christianity, but majority are still hindus on the other side. It's probably referring to the native unga bungas( name of this tribe is Kokborok, but called Tripuri by everyone else ) of Tripura who converted to Christianity
Our Tripura state and the areas surrounding it has a Bong majority tho, and the Tripuris of India are Hindu majority i think.
In all likelihood these are tribes across the border from our Tripura but lying in bangladesh's Chittagong province.
