Small Arms and Weapons

Western have strong tendency to c clamp everything c clamping works on most of ar rifles (note: not all ) but c clamping doesn't work on everything c clamping tavor , aug and AK is plain stupid
I get that the C-clamp blocks the sights of the AK, but with flip ups or collimator sights how is it plain stupid? Same for the Tavor or AUG?

Well C-Clamp grip is not something that's as straightforward as grabbing the rifle by the handguard, there are few mechanics too that work in our advantage.

As soon as a gun is fired it produces a "moment", rotate around a pivot near its chamber with the muzzle going upwards; the muzzle flip.
Using the simple formula of torque, we know that lever arm X force is torque. So as you're increasing the distance of C-clamp from the chamber, the torque you'll be able to apply to counter the torque applied by the gun during muzzle flip is also increasing. In simpler terms, the farther your hand is the lesser muzzle flip you'd feel.
Also wrapping the grip around the barrel makes it slightly more precise to adjust than a fore-grip though this is something too minute for a regular Grunt to realise.

This is why you'd see shooter placing their hands on the handguard as far away as possible

But if you try to replicate this thing on a bullpup then your hand would be right on the muzzle attachment...which I don't think would be a pleasant situation

For most of the ar platform c clamp work great but
hand guard and structure of tavor and aug c clamping doesn't work
Specially tavors handguard is chonky

Look in picture c clamping here would be uncomfortable for operator and might effect in his combat capability not to mention its charging handle is also in handguard
With Steyr aug

Look at both of the aug one is og one other is modern a3 sf varient inboth look and see for yourself if it would be remotely comfortable for c clamp grip

Gaht it

I hate the fact that whatever they are making nowdays turnsout to be an Ar-15 variant.Everything looks just the same .Good old 50s and 60s were the golden era .

can't do much , humans have reached at its peak in designing firearms

Well, there's an interesting reason behind it. In biology (especially in evolution) there's this interesting theory that if given enough time then everything (well not technically) will evolve into crabs as they're extremely efficient. Same goes for assault rifles where ultimately everything would be looking like the same.

The first radical invention in modern times and then a "technological plateau" came with AR-18 (contrary to people thinking this to be AR-15). Short stroke gas piston, rotating bolt, folding stock, kinda modular...was so efficient that everything else after this was more or less just AR-18...from H&K G36 to SCAR to Bren to SA80.

This happened again. Following the radical invention of Magpul's Masada came the second and final "technological plateau". Highly modular, multi caliber, non reciprocating charging handle, complete ambidextrous control, extensive use of polymer...and every other rifle is now a Masada; Bren 2, HK 433, SCAR 2, Type 20.

The next radical invention might come in the form of ceaseless cartridge...but sadly until then we're going to remain stuck on this plateau for quite a bit Sir.

Being a Kalashnikov fan boi i cant stand to see the ‘AR’isation of gloabal small arms Industry.

Tum kitne AR15 maroge, har ghar se AR15 niklega...Tum kitne AR10 maroge, har ghar se AR10 niklega ~
Eugene Stoner probably idk
