We have finally reached a state where budgets are just routine annual affairs unworthy of making headlines across media - this is how serious nations do their budgets. Allocations to states like Bihar and AP are a tiny fraction of what was originally demanded - also, no special status. Fiscal consolidation continues and the union govt expects a narrower fiscal deficit.

The armchair psephologists predicting 150 paar in 2029 based on a routine annual budget are nothing but nuclear weapon grade knuckleheads cuz I came across similar predictions in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Also, nobody, absolutely nobody does a favor to us mere mortals by staying back; far far more talented folks have left India for greener pastures and nobody misses them. If you want to leave this nation and do not want to be part of the India story then you are more than welcomed to do so; you do not have to make posts on the budget thread for that.

I can now understand why the old DFI mods were so trigger happy; this endless stream of bhosdapilling must have got into their heads.

Any analysis of impact of 5 schemes in PM Package on industries given exemption on import of manufacturing machines under custom duty ? Would it lead to increase in formal employment in these industries ?

Also would internship in Top 500 companies, as provided in budget, possibly bridge gap between academia and industry ?

Money has to be given to Bihar and Andhra. BJP should have done this in parts so that they are not burdened together in Budget.
They should have never let go of CBN and helped him when the state split and Andhra had misfortune of losing their Capital itself.
CBN for once is one of the most pro development CM ever in India.

This arrogant onion minister has copied congress manifesto just to do patch work for screwed handling of economy ( unemployment and job creation is the main focus on youths and making agenda nowadays)

Union budget is never relevant to middle class or tax paying ones.....just like police that never take side of law abiding people. "sustenance & operational readiness", technically it is revenue expenditure i.e Non-Salary Revenue

so looked at past PIB MoD statements when budget is released.
2021-22 = 54,624 crore
2023-24 = 62,431 crore
2024-25 = 92,088 crore

perhaps one way to read this (subject to correction), as a reason why IA and IN are able to deploy in quick time. IA doing area domination by deploying thousands of troops whenever tangos pop up in some sector, and IN making their presence felt in arabian sea. chini side op readiness is anyways there these days.

How can BJP demand exemption to be increased from 2.5L to 5L in 2009 when even by 2013 it was only 2 L for common man ?

Nope always use ITD official page for tax calculation.

If you choose New Tax Regime Pre-Budget Net Tax will be ₹135200 & Post-Budget Net Tax will be ₹119600.

If you choose Old Tax Regime, You need to submit proof's to claim deductions from Total Income to claim Tax relief

If it is 4 - 8 Lakhs then govmint have very solidly catered to this band . If you earn more than 10 Lakhs in a year you are in the top 10% of earners. When I see ranting about "middle class" getting squeezed what you mean it is the "rich" salaried class getting squeezed . And incase of votes how much do you really think the govmint cares about the votes of 10% of the population.
10% of the population is still 140 million people so we got our own echo chamber going on this topic.
