What rifle did the SAS use in the gulf war, I am reading a book and the author constantly repeats Armalite without specifying.

Yeah , why ?
I heard in an interview an ex operator saying he didn't trust some other operator coz he had a blue batch .
Multiple reasons essentially boiling down to shitty leadership and over inflated toxic egos clashing. Apparently Rangers avoid DEVGRU and prefer working with Delta.

Posting the wild red cell program the US had, how they infiltrated their own bases, including beating up one of their own admirals as a test of their internal security. The man behind it was also the founder of Seal Team 6, Richard Marcinko. He went on to write fiction novels later, and has one novel set in India called Rogue Warrior Domino Theory. From reading it, it was clear that he knew more about India than any of the BBC or Reuters clowns, though his knowledge was still a bit flawed. He also had a genuine affinity for India and Indians and a respect for India's special forces.

Right now the most shit on by fellow service members squadron.
agreed, but Blue has had the reputation allways...you see Chuck Pfarrer's book 'Warrior Soul' where he mentions Blue as this:
"Moose and Rick were assigned to an assault group that called themselves the Pirates. The skull and crossbones was proudly on display in their offices, and the Pirates were perhaps the toughest and most clannish of all the assault groups in SEAL Team Six. They had overthrown several officers but had performed valiantly in Grenada and were second to none inoperational capability."

Now they did overthrow many officers including McRaven....
Then Don Mann's book Inside SEAL Team Six, where Mann himself was in Blue Squadron says this
"The officers on the assault teams at Development Group were in constant competition to see who could work their guys harder and make them more war ready. Assault Teams were run by the officers. But where I served, the enlisted men were in charge"

You'll see over time if you read so, that Blue always maintained it's old school Marcinko like reputation of being mavericks, falwed yet just walking it off, not caring...in GWOT they skinned people.

Basically Blue squadron has always maintained that they need no accountability and want to have a free hand everywhere. Sometimes it works wonders like in Greneda and South America during 1980s and 1990s. Then in GWOT they did lots of operations like in Somalia hostage rescue etc. But yes their reputation was'nt good cause they put themselves above everyone else.

yeah, same goes with Chuck Pfarrer, he often tweeted warning India of rise of Khalistani seperatists way back in 2018 I guess. Chuck also mentions that India as a liable candidate for bringing peace in Ukraine. You know I've heard this, not sure but in the early 1980s...not after 1986 however, DEVGRU did train Indian clearance divers in maritime counterterrorism, so did the British SBS, but the Brits had more role to play than the americans I belive. We did BUD/S with them, but that does not teach anything tactical

Agreed. While being a self sustained , second to none capable team as the tip of the spear is a good thing, it does not bode well when your brothers in arms avoid interacting with you and avoid going out on missions as well.
This should have been nipped in the bud long time ago but now its far too late unless they actually go through an overhaul. However, I am pretty sure no one outside the DEVGRU leadership will be taken seriously if they ever tried it.
