Na, mostly rwr or communication node.

But it seems like there are optical/visual units in these sensors... As far as my knowledge RWR doesn't have optical unit in it.... One of these two is definitely MAWS and the other one is unknown, It will be interesting to know details about this.

Checked again.
The ones below the nose is maws/Das sensor.
The one on side is rwr/communication node.

Tejas mk2 will have 4 maws/Das sensor(IR cameras), two( one forward, one backward looking) below the chin, and two on its spine( forward backward), they won't cover 360° Like f35's Das(6 ir cameras), but the blindspots will only be in extreme right angles of the jet, now it's a long explanation but practically those blindspots are not a problem, and given more sensors=more energy used.

Actually a welcome move if it happens, both for mk2 and amca mk1.
More money and time, but still would prefer French over burgerland

extremely difficult or extremely timetaking process
centre of gravity change, power generation change, gearbox location change, fadec dfcc interface change, claws change, etc etc etc
better to appease orangegutan for f414 even if we need to pay 1.5-2 billion usd

tejas mk2 is our rafale competitor, cannot wait even a month for the prototype rollout

Besides if we're really pursuing SAFRAN for a JV TF to power the Mk-2 , why are we wasting our time with GE ?

Designing and building an alternative to GE F414 makes sense to me, since it could be sold against the US engine but too late for Tejas Mk2 for India, isn't it? Without substantial sales to India for use in Tejas Mk2 and AMCA its attraction as an investment goes down a lot.

Now that GOI (majority shareholder in HAL) has decided to end HAL's monopoly on fighter construction, I wonder why they did not start with Tejas Mk2. There is far less risk in ordering Mk2 than AMCA from the builder's point of view.

If GOI ordered 150 Mk2 now, a delay in assembly because this or that part of the avionics, for example, had not held to schedule would be less likely than with AMCA, wouldn't it? Whatever company got an order would be less likely to suffer expensive delays from late component delivery, interfering with smooth assembly progress.

In the worst case scenario a company could invest in building an FAL, kitting it out with assembly jigs and tools, training staff etc, commissioning the FAL then discovering that assembly could not start due critical components being missing. My guess is that would be far less likely with Tejas Mk2 than with AMCA.

They have a proposal for co development of a engine with higher thrust based on m88 . I think if we go for this proposal we might see similar arrangements like AMCA having two versions with different engines depending upon the time it ll take .
