Desi Tomahawk Brahmos

The best part about this weapon is that it can be fired from the UVLM launchers for BrahMos. This gives the Navy options to play around with the loadout of 8-16 UVLM/ capital ship.

LRLACM is a Defence Acquisition Council-approved, Acceptance of Necessity-sanctioned, Mission Mode Project. It is configured to launch from ground using mobile articulated launcher and also from frontline ships using universal vertical launch module system.

The only concern here is the cost/unit since a BrahMos-ER costs ~ $5 million/unit and has a range of ~ 900 km. I expect it to be less than the BrahMos since the ramjet engine is still imported from Russia and the LR-LACM uses the STFE Manik.

The Indian Army got DAC approval for 4000 crore worth of missiles with a planned acquisition of 1000 units. If the army buys 100 units then its ~ $4.6 million/unit and if it's 200 units then its $2.3 million/unit considering 1 USD = Rs. 86.

LRLACM will be used by all three services with the Indian Air Force and Army receiving AoN for procurement of the missile in August 2023 and February 2024 respectively. IAF will procure missiles worth about ₹10,000 crore once developed, while the Army will procure missiles worth ₹4,000 crore.
