Na.
30 seconds? I think you meant 90 seconds.
It's doesn't fly for mach3 at most of it flight.
Let's do more realitistic(
Internet noob level realistic deduction ) deduction
And assume target is close to the max distance it's flight time and top speed gives us idea about.
For simplicity I will break it's flight( total ~90 second) into 3 phase.
1, 1st 10 seconds( 0s-10s) it accelerates from 0 to mach 3.
IRL missiles accelerates non linearly and distance covered in that time should be 5km.
2, 2nd 60 second phase(10s-70s).
I assume constant mach 3 speed( sustained motor)
Distance covered= 60km.
3, 3d 20 second phaee( 70-90s) I assume missile stops it's motor( glides or only uses fuel for maneuverability) and decelrates to mach2 to hit the target.
15-20km distance for terminal maneuvering.
So max range of akash ng 80- 85km in its current form.
Which also is in similar category as 70+km max range shown earlier by drdo.
By adding a booster 100+km max range is quite easy to get.
Now this is the capability of the missile and not the entire system.
Don't know if the radars can guide it beyond 30km
But if this missile is limited to 30km then it's no escape zone will be massive.
The radar of akash ng is mentioned to be capable of detecting "2m2" targets upto 120km and capable of tracking "2m2" targets upto 80km.
But akash ng is limited to 14km( 45000feet)
And while fighter jets do fly at 40000 feet normally but modern ones are capable of ascending to 50000-65000 thousand feet.
So max altitude of aksah ng is in lower end of normal flight altitude( I said normal because fighter jets do fly lot lower lower regularly to avoid detection) of fighter jets.
And line of sight won't be a problem for a target flying at 30k feet to 40k feet, line of sight Is 300-400km.
So if a fighter jet loaded( 2m2) is flying at 30k-40k feet then akash ng's radar should be capable of detecting it at 120km and tracking and firing the missile( akash ng) at ~80km.
( assuming the fighter jet Is moving towards the system)
As for low flying cruise missiles( whose rcs Is is between 0.1-0.5m2) 30km range( effective range, not max range) seems realistic for akash ng using it's radar and EOTS systems( due to eots having 45km range, stealth cruise missiles can be targeted at a similar ~30km as non stealth cruise missiles).
And primary target akash NG is made for are cruise missiles( subsonic, supersonic), drones, etc.
Though again, given the capabilities of the missile and radar it should be able to get a "firing solution" against a loaded fighter jet/target( 2m2 or more) at ~80km if it's flying at 30kfeet-45k feet.
Now whether it can intercept the fighter jet or not is a separate matters and depends on many other factors, like whether the fighter jet is coming towards the system, or flying laterally or running away from the system, or It's EW capacity, or even if missile gets close it can try to out Maneuver it or try to deplete it's energy, try to climb at higher altitude ETC.
Plus the closer missile gets to its max range, the less fuel and energy it retains for terminal maneuvering to hit the target.
But just getting firing lock is enough to have a decent chance of destroying the target or even if target evades, then target is forced to run away and abandon whatever mission they were assigned to do.
So against a 2m2 target flying at 30k-40k feet akash ng( missile and radar) should be capable of detecting it at 120km and engaging it at 80km.
If target is flying 45k+ feet altitude then it's beyond the capabilities of akash ng.
Another thing, akash NG missile in its current form is solid base for a longer range surface to air missile( ~150km) by adding a booster and some other modifications to bring it's altitude at 65k feet and paring it with batter radar, against fighter size targets
