I strongly believe India will go for 36-40 F 35A fighters in the interim given that Trump had offered the same in 2018. Post 20th January 2024, Trump will again offer the F 35A but will seek heavy concessions such as a Stryker deal.Behold the A-LCA, inspired off the 2014 AMCA version with diamond wings, known to be the stealthiest one yet but couldn't be continued as wings were too small. The possibility of F-35s wearing Indian Air Force roundels is not new. Previous plans for a large twin engine NGAD with 2 x XA102 (156 KN) engines with numbers ~200 units has been effectively scrapped due to cost concerns ($300 Million/aircraft).

If we think of a the Su 57 is a LO anti-stealth aircraft due to it's side facing L Band AESA radars it makes more sense.Su-57 Vs AMCA. It is up to DoD of they implement the possible elements, & timely.

Also there are signs that the USAF may divest it's planned F 35 inventory due to NGAD's evolving nature and CCA. The US has a habit of peddling it's older tech (F-16, F-15, F-18) to client nations like India, Israel, UK, Australia, Germany, etc.

The SU 57 has the RCS of a clean F 18 Super Hornet so it's no where near as stealthy as per our requirements. Also it's in the IOC stage at best and with the Russia-Ukraine war, production facilities will be strained to meet demands.
