Is this just a ground test prototype of a flight worthy one? I see it has weapons bay as well, I really hope this is a flight and weapons test worthy prototype. Any idea when is the FF for this program?

On a side note, I find the Ghatak scale.model very well made too. Very clean looking design and manufacturing

Nobody makes "ground test" prototype.
If a prototype is made it is made to fly.

Key 5th generation technologies being developed by ADA are stealth material, NCW systems, AI-powered electronic pilot, Integrated vehicle health management, internal weapon on bay among others.

The AI-powered electronic pilot is integrated with advanced features like multi-sensor data fusion for enhanced situational awareness, pilot decision support system, automatic target identification, combined vision system for navigation in poor visibility, Man Unmanned Teaming.

The AI implementation will benefit force multiplier in operational capabilities. The avionics hardware and software are configured with advanced dynamics reconfigurable hardware with on-board virtualisation to benefit the NCW capabilities.

ADA also working concurrently on establishment of state-of- art manufacturing technologies meet stringent precision machining & assembly requirements of AMCA.

Now they've made this one on 1:1 mock-up & I can't think that's be by mistake. It's not a PPT where you'll paste a wrong image right?.. A large scale model of this size will take time, over the design to be provided to construction vendor reviewed by various level of seniority. Chance of that being not the latest version just "skipping everyone's notice" is just so impossible!

There are 5 CAD artists who have made AMCA's CAD so far, with noticeable differences.

For India, AMCA or F-35 or Su-57

The AMCA stealth fighter’s development and manufacture should be advanced as fast as possible. If DRDO is unable to proceed fast enough then, its management handed over to the private sector. It is urgent and it is a must.

Chinese are likely to hand over two dozen stealth fighters in next five years to Pakistan; although these fighters are inferior and can be countered by Rafale and upgraded Su-20mk1 but the psychological impact on Indian mind set of Pakistan acquiring stealth fighters will be great. Moreover, even facing bankruptcy, Pakistani public and armed forces morale will go sky rocketing. Also, Chinese having a dozen stealth fighters in Tibet is of no consequence as their effectiveness is not that great crossing the Himalayas.

Now, there is no possibility that India will ever acquire the U.S. F-35. Even if they agree to sell, the conditions they will put on its operation will be so harsh that India as a sovereign nation would not be able to accept these. Hence end of the story.

Again, if India goes for Russian Su-57 then, this purchase will invite rude American sanctions. Remember that it is unpredictable Trump in charge for next four years. For India to stay on his good side, it is better to stay away from any large deal with the Russians.

Hence, do everything to speed up AMCA. If you have to seek help or collaboration from others, then do get it but speed it up. That will be good for national morale.

If Trump wants business then he should clear F414 engines a.s.a.p. at valid cost.
Not just that, he should clear a better engine for our R&D like given for Turkish Kaan.
Perhaps we can negotiate sub-systems of F-35, a middle solution b/w their full proposal & our unwillingness. Like - HMDS, EOTS, DAS, MADL snesors, but not stalling our products R&D.
F-135 engine w/o ToT for now?
