There is literally a drone operator flying the bird in second picture.Where is the dense forest here , where is the drone? If they are moving like this the sniper will definitely take a shot at them.
Wow this post aged terribly. My current analysis.
So far in 2024, we have managed to inflict a 1:9 Kd ratio on the militants. 2 of ours have made the supreme sacrifice whereas 18 of theirs has been dispatched to hell. Many of these are veteran pigs from the Afghanistan. This is a far far better place than we were one year ago.
While this is an amazing record, we must be wary. The PAFF first hit 9 of soldiers in 2021 before seemingly disappearing in 2022 (to recruit and train). 2023 was the worst year in Kashmir for us since ‘99. We were unprepared, losing Colonels and SF in ambushes.
BUT, the PAFF has been active in 2024 (unlike in 2022) as they have themselves admitted that they have taken casualties and have partaken in the two ambushes which resulted in 2 of our KIA. Not to mention the IA has been on a killing streak in kashmir recently.
While we can celebrate and commend the army, we must be more careful. The PAFF L shaped ambushes are a contuined thorn in our butt. We NEED APCs with a HMG turret alongside proper reconnaissance for EVERY patrol. Expensive yes but well within the confines of the IAs budget.
The ratio for this year is 1.75(approx. 2) terrorists killed per 1 troop casualtyWow this post aged terribly.
Lowest it’s been in entire insurgency. The ratio for this year is 1.75(approx. 2) terrorists killed per 1 troop casualty
For this month it’s 1 terrorist killed per 4 troop casualties (including 2 SF troops)
This is concerning
But sab changa si ye toh hota rehta hai they are satisfied with busting the hideouts and finding rusted mags terrorists are litreally performing better and completing all of their objectives while the only excuse the brass and some knowledgeable people of defence community have is terrain. And that terrain is somehow only causing problems to us.Lowest it’s been in entire insurgency.
Last month was the first month in COIN history where Sf casualties were more than militants
PS:- The location of this hideout is in vicinity of the 20 April 2023 ambush on RR, 21 December 2023 Ambush on 48 RR and May 2024 Ambush On IAF truck.INSAS magazines were uncovered in a recent hideout raid by the armed forces, indicating they were likely used frequently after ambushes for concealment and retreat.

Rucksacks similar to those seen in videos released by the terrorists were also discovered.
