Bhai, you cannot give that 'strong message' to people who do not value their own lives. We still have their bodies from Kargil. This will always be an uneven fight.

They happily ensured their own fighter pilot was erased from history books just to win a PR campaign.
Still unleash unkown gunman do bat raid in pok let them have piece of thier own medicine

The Russians lost only around 15000 soldiers in Afghanistan.. Where did you pull the 150k dead Soviet soldiers number from ?
It's not about skills or bravado.. Even if we want to, India was never and still is not capable of meeting the challenge of modern attrition war..
We are simply not capable of fighting a high intensity industrial modern war like Russia is fighting against a NATO backed Ukraine..

Just because India hasn't fought a large-scale, high-intensity war of attrition since WW2 doesn't mean it can't fight it.
Since WW2,Most countries including India avoid fighting this sort of war due to its severe and long-term impact on the economy and political stability.

If India were to fight a war like Russia is currently engaged in, be prepared to say goodbye to India's economy which most probably won't recover in our lifetime. At least in the case of Russia,it has an abundance of critical resources that it can trade in the face of economic upheavals whereas India's largely service-driven economy will be instantly obliterated in the face of a major war.

Hardly, The history of Indian army post WW2 and that of the Political leadership proves otherwise. From a lack of operational capability, to a horrendous training regimen to an utter lack of stomach for losses, we have rarely demonstrated the resolve required to fight a savage engagement

Divisions of the Indian army in 1965, including the vaunted 1 armored went into headlong retreat after suffering 200 odd casualties in day long moderate engagements- thats <2% loss rates. Contrast that to WW2 engagements- 12th SS held out despite suffering nearly 40% losses outside Caen. Our generals have repeatedly lost their nerve whenever faced with bloody engagements. Commanders have ordered unorganized retreats from perfectly defensible positions when faced with what would be considered light losses.
Even in 1999 entire battallions were rendered combat ineffective after suffering <5% casualties and replaced with new units - how on earth do you expect such an organization to hold and fight a war where entire brigades and divisions are decimated in a day?

Nothing about the Indian army is designed to fight heavy engagements. We are an officer led force that depends criminally on officers to lead men into war - and we are understaffed even there. Lose the first few officers and entire companies and battallions are now rendered less than combat ready and unable to take initiative.

All of Indian scriptures are full of Vishnu's Sudarshan chakra and how Hirankashyap was killed, and nose of shurbhnakah stories. But p*ssy generation here piss in their dhotis every other day. Tum log ja kar paan lagao. And don't even think of joining armed forces. Mumy ko bolo doodh pilaye thoda mard banoge.

All these "tagra bano" pep talk is fine, all the puranas talk is good, but if we are taking inspiration from Puranas, we should follow them in actions & doctrine as well.

Problem is we are treating the terrorists humanely, following Geneva convention, and not disrespecting the dead bodies. But when our soldiers body get mutiliated we are somehow suddenly required to remember teachings of Puranas ?

I will follow puranas, and I will soak the terrorist bodies in pig urine and intestines and hang them till they rot at the gate of OGWs village where they got help & ration.

But that ain't happening right ? Instead GoI won't even acknowledge our soldiers got mutiliated, revenge is a far, far distant vision.

Depends on what you mean by 'escape', sometime army will keep pushing terrorists to a location where they can close in more easily without many casualties.

Again, this is something which happens, might or might not have happened in this case.
Too bad we never get to know how IA avenges these 'attempted beheadings'. Kashmiri media folks have been tamed into complete submission post 370 abrogation. Back in the old days, at least some incidents would get leaked. Agree with your earlier assumptions tho, them torchering jihadis will have little effect on the radicalized mullahs anyway.
