in any case with new tech - drones, ground radar etc , infiltration will further go down . long term we will completely kill insurgency in kashmir , only matter of time .

It’s not about ceasefire for every attack you can’t drop bombs on pakis we need to protect our borders you can’t blame everything on pakis their country is based on the ideology to destroy India they will do what they do think about this -why are we taking casualties?cause we can’t provide our troops with basic APCs which is top brass’s responsibility MoD’s job is to monitor and facilitate equipment purchases for force it can’t dictate how army wants to spend its budget do they want APCs and good gear for every troop or robotic mules that is the top brass’s decision. And on the point why is COAS getting hate cause since his tenure as northern army commander,VCOAS,COAS there has been multiple ambushes on our troop in the same way and gave us high numbers of casualties and there have been no improvements to prevent them from happening again, you can’t blame ministers everytime yes accountability is needed and important but it goes both ways for force and MoD.I am the biggest hater of ninda turtle but these ambushes are not his fault.

Lot of capital allocated for acquisition is returned to treasury each year as they remain under-utilised. Wonder what kind of genius level IQ or IIT-IIM-IAS certification is required to prepare documentation for buying Trucks with Armoured cabins or retro-fitting existing ones. While this is our state, we are dreaming of Drones Swarms, CATS warriors, Robotic Mules and other wonder-waffe

Unbelievable that we are not even able to provide such basic equipment when our men are dying every other day despite having so called nationalist for 10 years, a booming economy and huge tax collections. Really ashamed at our apathy for our soldiers every time I read such news

bold part is not true anymore. my response may be offtopic for this thread.

up until 2015, such un-utilised budget returned back to finance ministry used to in the range of 15-25 thousand crores, how much was returned after 2015 ?

not much analysis available outside of IDSA on this especially on spending actuals, after parrikar set right the defence acquisition procedure, defence spending is more than budget allocated is the general trend.

source is union budget documents.

This is most likely the spot from where, the initial fire from first group of terrorists came from (which killed the driver and Co driver first) See how well made that spot looks like inbetween all that dense bush. Almost as if purposely chosen (or made) for recce and ambush.
They have detained a truck driver who might have purposefully slowed them down on the way

From 94-04 Kashmir practically became a warzone tbh. Basically on par with Afghanistan but with less firepower on both sides (they didn’t have as powerful IEDs but we fought infantry vs infantry)

In the current geopolitical scenario and with the twin objective of promoting self reliance and exports, the Defence Budget has touched Rs 6,21,540.85 crore in the Financial Year 2024-25. This comes out to be 13.04% of total Union Budget, which was presented by Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on February 01, 2024.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) continues to receive the highest allocation among the Ministries. The budgetary allocation to Defence for FY 24-25 is higher by approx. one lakh crore (18.35%) over the allocation for the FY 2022-23 and 4.72% more than allocation of FY 23-24. Of this, a major share of 27.67% goes to capital, 14.82% for revenue expenditure on sustenance and operational preparedness, 30.68% for Pay and allowances, 22.72% for defence pensions and 4.11% for civil organisations under MoD.

So, 42.49% goes into defense acquisition, preparedness and R&D from total defense budget.

Reports coming that pakistan carried out airstrikes against TTP locations inside Afghanistan. A begger nation has decided to go all out against the preparators but our forces still run behind ambushes and get trapped.
For large scale operations like that, you need to accept the problem first. Which our armed forces and politics isn't ready in order to not disturb their facade of stability and everything okay in J&K. Pakistan has openly confronted Afghanistan regarding TTP issue, did india confronted Pakistan yet despite killing numerous foreign terrorists?

You want to use air strikes in kashmir?

Absolutely not urging for cross border airstrikes, but dismayed by the complete inaction from GOI even after evidencing the routine event of terror attacks. We have not even warned pak or summoned pak envoy over endless cross border infiltration. As far I see GOI's only concern is not to give attention to pak, apart from forcing the foot soldiers to face the jihadi pigs with ill armored vehicles , GoI did nothing concrete to punish the actual preprators

According to me the plan is to complete modernisation and complete theatre command set up for the forces until then keep it low try to minimise the infiltration and insurgency in Kashmir as much as possible it’s a very tolerant plan but the situation we are in kinda calls for it
