DRDO and PSUs

I seriously don't understand the competency level of Indian Army RFI makers

A MLRS on a 6*6 chasis, ok cool, then they ask for 122mm, 214mm rockets, fine and boom they ask for 300mm rockets. Now that would have been fine if it was the 300mm LRGR rocket by DRDO which is a short length 300mm rocket like Israeli EXTRA of <= 6m. They are asking for a fricking heavy 300mm smerch rockets of 7.6m length on a 6*6 truck.

There is a reason medium and heavy MLRS exists, pinaka and himars are medium ones, smerch and phl16 are heavy ones. If IA RFI making guys were students, I am pretty sure they would have been first from bottom.😖😖

It is a precision targeted RFI :troll:
Maybe they want more Smerch or Himars or whatever
Its corruption, plain and simple, most of IAs RFI's are written to ensure foriegn maal is selected

Drone based reconfigurable phased arrays!? They can do that!? My mind is properly blown right now imagining the tactical applications of this. But I don't get how they plan to power such an array. Please don't say lasers. Is it lasers?

I mean just imagine suddenly creating a phased array airborne radar in the middle of battlespace. And it can't be targeted or destroyed easily. They try to hit it, the drones just scatter and then regroup. They self heal any node(s) that does get hit.

Imagine enemy launching a massive swarm of low flying cruise missiles approaching using nap of earth and terrain masking and we just set up this radar up above the missiles' path and suddenly bam! We have firing solutions against the entire enemy cruise missile wolfpack! And its looking down at them, negating their terrain masking. And our radar is highly survivabile. Maybe it even lands once its mission in done (all drones simply land). This is bonkers.

IG applications, if this is achieved, would be pretty insane, but I'll have to run some calculations on feasibility to understand how hard it might be.

Lets say, for a total power of 20kW (reasonable no for radar to be used for airborne search)

Assuming a drone of size similiar to DJI Matrix 350 (mid size quadcopter), we have around 50 mins of no payload flight time, with 520WH available.

For 45 mins of engagement, we get 70 Watts per drone
For 30 mins of engagement, we get 270 Watts per drone

Form this, we need

for 45 mins of engagement, 300 ish drones
for 30 mins of engagement, 80 ish drones

Very doable, the main challenge is in figuring out how to align the drones together precisely enough, synchronising them so the phases array works well, and how to ensure either of these is not interrupted by some sort of electronic attack.
