Off topic but exhibit 273930 of the shitty quality of NFHS. Kanglus and nepalis are significantly behind us in terms of doctor to population ratio and practically dependent on Indian hospitals but apparently, boast of lower infant mortality rates - yeah, makes total sense!

The govt should discontinue NFHS and come up with a new framework.

You do realize that IMR figures quoted here are from Unicef's own surveys, which is inline with our sample registration survey right? NFHS IMR is even higher at ~34 in 2019. SRS 2020 put IMR at 28/1000 births.
