This little two-shed railway station in the middle of practically nowhere is the Panir/Paneer Railway Station where #BalochistanLiberationArmy has taken a whole train #jaffar_express #JafferExpress #JaffarExpresstrain hostage.
While Quetta, home to Pakistan Army's XII Corps and an infantry division is <100 km as the crow flies, it might well have been in another country. This postage stamp sized railway station doesn't even have a proper access road.
It sits on the historic railway line established by the British which passes through the strategic Bolan Pass.

Basically Fauji Foundation knows how to spark off insurgencies not how to tame them. It bears repetition that India & SL are the only two countries in the Indian sub continent to defeat insurgencies. None of the other countries have successfully come out of it. If you're thinking Nepal & the Maoists , they've the war, the peace is still contested.
Otherwise the Baloch sarmachars were running circles around them since the past 3 years, how is it that Fauji Foundation failed to war game such a scenario?
Probably Fauji Foundation was under the impression, since their jawans were armed, those sarmachars wouldn't dare to attack this train particularly given the large numbers involved in which case why wasn't there much resistance?
Some reports indicate a large number of those soldiers were going home for Ramzan & Eid which probably translates to mean most of them were unarmed. All the more reason Fauji Foundation should've been alert.
All these repeated targeting of the lower echelons in fauji foundation by those various militant groups leads me to believe the latter is least bothered about losing grunts especially given the economy of Paxtan & with the kind of perks Fauji Foundation offers , for every vacancy they advertise, there'd be a 1000 candidates..
All's well till you target the jernails seems to be the unspoken message.
Alhamdulillah!
