I didnt know, but i am not surprised.
GN's main thrust was Sikhism = hindufication of islam/middle ground of islam+hinduism. That was his overt goal. So to serve goal he has to muslim-ify a bit given he is himself hindu background.

its like if tomorrow i started an interracial movement where only interracial coupling is the way forward...i would need a wife from a different race than me to lead by example...

BTW - I just learnt of this bit of history. How many of you were aware of it?

Earlier I had read on some musical instruments which Sumerian sources reported as having been imported into their country from the "meluhans."

Their Sumerian names displayed remarkable similarities to their IVC counterparts in, get a load of this, the Sanskrit language.

Incidentally the handle by the name of The Emissary reported these findings on Twitter much before Yajnadevam came up with his interpretation of the IVC script .

There was also a documentary to this effect which I happened to see around that time on YT.

Banias ruling the roost since God knows when?! It was much the same story with the Jagat Seths & Sirajuddin in mid 18th century Bengal. We know how that one ended but more importantly how that event is remembered.

Incidentally the Jagat Seths were almost completely eliminated to a man by Mir Qasim the Nawab to succeed Mir Jaffar & his SiL wary of their growing political clout & power behind the throne plus their proximity to Clive & the EIC.
