> The CONTEXT here is the
RCS of MKI visible at large distances, in future
era of emerging 6gen & us also making a stealth jet like AMCA.
> The RCS increases the PK (Probability of Kill).

The Su-30MKI has been a versatile, strong backbone, deterrent, premium fighter of IAF.
> But in future its big RCS will have to be compensated by LR-AAMs like Astr-3 SFDR. But others are also developing LR-AAMs.
> Some MKIs are upgraded with MAWS, better radar, avionics, SPJ which was
done 10 years back on Su-35. Others are also doing such things. So
by our delay we have reduced the useful MLUed life by at least 10-15 years.
> MKI's predominant strong point has been TVC. But J-10C also has it & J-20 may also get it. May be other Chinese Flankers will get it.
> Some people are confused on big radar. AESA radar doesn't flash all its TRMs together

, but narrow beams in different modes. ofcourse, more TRMs means more advantage in certain way but doesn't mean straight away a better jet overall.
>What Russia is doing with their Su-3X (35, 30SM, etc) to counter EF-2000s, Rafales, Gripen, etc, is not comparable to India's geography, geopolitics, economy, etc. Moreover, they do have Su-75 initiated & can disclose answer to FCAS, GCAP any day.
> Russia, USA, EU are selling their 4gen to fund their 5/6gen projects.

> They themselves will use 4gen as broomers, moppers

, with high stand-off weapons, or against weak adversaries

in asymmetrical situation where chances of getting shot down, ejection, pilot's death/capture is almost none.
> The recent Indo-Pak clash was a short skirmish. It is easy to hide & deny losses on both sides.
In larger scale wars the losses will be more visible to everyone, very difficult to hide/deny.

> If world makes mistakes, should we learn from it or copy those acts again?
> Su-3X is a beautiful jet

, even i personaly like it really a lot, but MKI is not our design but modified version. They are the most humpy-bumpy fighters, the eagle has already become turkey, sorry to say that. So
sentiments will not help.

Progressive self-scrutiny/criticism is needed.
> AMCA should become the new backbone of IAF.
> Meanwhile when we've license produced them so obviously they've to be used for next 30-40 years. The best way to use MKI is with much awaited MLUs, Astr-3 SFDR AAM, high stand-off range AGMs. Unless the enemy has shot all BVR-AAMs, the MKI should not come WVR. That's another challenge to find out during battle.
