A Hindu temple in Brampton has suspended one of its priests in the wake of violent clashes between protesters at Hindu and Sikh places of worship earlier this week.
A statement from the Hindu Sabha Mandir says the suspension was due to the priest's "controversial involvement" with protesters on Sunday but did not elaborate.
CBC News has reached out to the temple for more information.
Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said the priest spread "violent rhetoric," in a post on X Tuesday evening asking the community not to respond to violence and hate.

The violence initially broke out at the Hindu temple in Brampton Sunday afternoon, while Indian consular officials were visiting. Officers were dispatched to the property around noon, Peel police said.
Later in the day, demonstrators made their way to the Westwood Mall in neighbouring Mississauga, according to the World Sikh Organization of Canada. More fighting broke out a short time later at the Malton gurdwara, a Sikh place of worship on Airport Road in Mississauga.

This is another one of our specialities. Throw one of our own under the bus. Compare that to the opposition be it the greens or the khali stanis. Also not to mention give the opposition enough fodder to attack us .

Yahan yudh shuru hua hi nahin aur inki gaan abhi se phat gayi.

Because of the colonial mentality and naysayers. It’s a survival trait of colonized people who don’t want to rock the boat and submit. This needs to be discouraged and for the last generation with PTSD needs to pass the bastion

Bendover and crawling when nobody asked them to
Which Dharmic Bro outfit has suspended or otherwise disciplined their people?

These guys are rank idiots. Look up the 'protests' they organized - an ocean of Indian and bhagwa flags. I could not spot one Canadian flag; why would you wave Indian flags in a protest march of Canadian Hindus?

I would say this trait has almost become genetic in Indians. It has never been a
collective community. It is always better them then us mentality. Someone once
asked me what would have happened if Indians had found north america , I answered
I doubt they would have made it into anything like it is today or even held the
territory for long?

"Sharma wants the MoU trashed if it prevents academic conferences and forces the withdrawal of support to an art exhibition. Joining him in castigating the institute is Prof. Majunath Pendakur of Western University, who said that by withdrawing support to the exhibition and to the workshop on diversity and human rights, the institute's tradition of maintaining an arm's-length relationship with the Indian government was destroyed. "Its intellectual credibility in the eyes of the academic world in both cou ntries is diminished.
